Recalled from Triple-A The Guardians recalled Herrin from Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Impact Early struggles sent Herrin to Triple-A in late April, but he will return to Cleveland to take the place of Peyton Battenfield (shoulder), who landed on the 15-day injured list Friday. Aside from one four-run, 0.2-inning appearance, Herrin has been virtually flawless in Triple-A and boasts 10 strikeouts through 7.2 frames.

Impact Herrin threw 1.2 innings and 31 pitches Monday and is being replaced with a fresh arm. He holds a 7.45 ERA over nine relief appearances this season.

Impact Herrin was added to the 40-man roster ahead of the Rule 5 draft in November, and the southpaw registered an 11:2 K:BB with a 4.66 ERA over nine appearances in the Cactus League before receiving the good news. Herrin will likely will pitch in the middle innings while with the Guardians.
