Impact Elko sat the last two games with a righty on the mound, but he returned Saturday against left-hander Matthew Boyd. He appears to be settling into a small-side platoon role, though the situation is likely to remain fluid. Elko is now 3-for-17 with a pair of homers and four RBI.

Impact After getting his first big-league call-up Saturday, Elko had started at first base or designated hitter in each of the White Sox's ensuing four games, going 2-for-14 with a home run and three RBI. Knocks first career homer Elko went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in Sunday's win against the Marlins.

Impact Elko went 0-for-3 in his MLB debut Saturday before picking up his first career hit Sunday. His three-run shot off Sandy Alcantara in the sixth inning proved to be the game-winner. Elko served as the designated hitter Sunday after playing first base in his debut. With Andrew Vaughn continuing to struggle (.554 OPS through 160 plate appearances), Elko should continue seeing regular playing time.

Promotion made official The White Sox selected Elko's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.

Impact Elko was a 10th-round pick for the White Sox in 2022 and has progressed consistently through the team's system. He's maintained a .339/.423/.661 line across 130 plate appearances with Charlotte this season, earning him his first shot in the majors. Elko will man first base and hit eighth in his debut, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Bound for Chicago The White Sox plan to promote Elko to the major-league roster Saturday, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Impact With Andrew Vaughn struggling to the tune of a .516 OPS with the big club, the Sox will now look to jumpstart their production at first base by giving Elko a look in the majors. The 26-year-old has been phenomenal at Triple-A Charlotte this season, slashing .339/.423/.661 with 10 homers and 23 RBI through 130 plate appearances. His first appearance will mark his MLB debut, and he could claim the starting job at first base immediately upon arriving in Chicago.

MAY 9, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Mashing at Triple-A Elko is slashing .348/.431/.670 with 10 home runs and a 28.5 percent strikeout rate in 31 games for Triple-A Charlotte.

Impact Elko is a righty-hitting first baseman who is already 26, so it's possible he's just a Quad-A hitter when it's all said and done. His 27.6 percent hard-hit rate and 67 percent contact rate aren't great marks, especially for an older first baseman. Elko is not yet on Chicago's 40-man roster.
