Impact Rogers will be on the move for the second time this season after the Padres acquired him from the Twins on Opening Day with the hope that he would add stability to the ninth inning. Though he had a promising start to the campaign, Rogers was ultimately removed from the role last week after blowing two saves and allowing runs in each of his final three appearances in San Diego. The Padres quickly found an upgrade at the back end of the bullpen in Hader, but Rogers could recapture the closer's gig with his new team if the Brewers aren't eager to elevate ace setup man Devin Williams to the ninth-inning role. Until the Brewers clarify their bullpen plans in the post-Hader era, Rogers is worth holding in most leagues. Despite losing out on the job in San Diego, Rogers still converted 28 of his 35 save chances on the season and sported decent underlying ratios (2.35 FIP, 3.36 xFIP, 22.4 K-BB%).

Impact The Rays will go with a closer-by-committee approach to the ninth inning for now in hopes of allowing Rogers to right the ship in lower-leverage situations. He has given up 11 earned runs while going 6-for-10 on save opportunities over his last 11.1 innings. Luis Garcia and Adrian Morejon seem like possible fill-in options for saves in the short term.

Impact Rogers entered the game with a one-run lead, but he allowed a pair of doubles and an infield single to lose the advantage. He has now allowed at least one earned run in eight of his last 11 appearances, during which he's maintained a 7.59 ERA and 1.78 WHIP. The Padres have kept Rogers in the closer role despite his struggles, though he could start to lose save chances -- at least in the short term -- if his performance doesn't turn around quickly.

Secures another save Rogers earned a save against the Mets on Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out one batter over one inning.

Impact It was hardly a clean outing for Rogers -- he was the only Padres pitcher to surrender a run in the game, and he allowed New York to put the tying run on third base -- but the left-hander nonetheless emerged with his second save in as many days. He's successfully converted each of his past five save opportunities despite giving up three runs over five innings during that span. Rogers leads the majors with 28 saves on the season.
