Shane Baz - Back in action at Triple-A Baz (illness) started Saturday for Triple-A Durham in its 6-1 win over Norfolk, covering six innings and allowing one earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out 10.
Impact The 22-year-old righty didn't miss a beat in his return to the mound after a stomach virus resulted in him being pushed back a couple days in Durham's pitching schedule. Since earning a promotion from Double-A Montgomery in mid-June, Baz has submitted a 1.76 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 64:11 K:BB in 46 innings. He could be in the mix for a call-up to the big leagues in the second half of September as the Rays look to strengthen their pitching staff ahead of the postseason.

Randy Arozarena - Not starting Monday Arozarena will be on the bench Monday against Toronto, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Arozarena missed a pair of games last week while on paternity leave but returned to start both weekend contests in Detroit. He'll get what appears to be a routine off day Monday, with Austin Meadows and Brett Phillips starting in the outfield corners.

Manuel Margot - Takes seat Monday Margot is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Margot is back on the bench after going 5-for-24 with two runs and an RBI while starting five of the Rays' last six contests. The recent return of Brett Phillips from the injured list makes the Tampa Bay outfield more crowded and could cost Margot some work, but the latter should at least find himself in the lineup regularly against left-handed pitching.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 ROTOWIRE
Francisco Mejía - Starting again Monday Mejia will start at catcher and bat ninth Monday against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Despite going 0-for-9 over his last three games, Mejia will stick behind the plate for the third time in four contests. Mejia appears to have moved into a timeshare at catcher with Mike Zunino, and the two could continue to split starts in relatively even fashion for the remainder of the campaign.

Brandon Lowe - Remains on bench Lowe will sit Monday against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact It wasn't a surprise to see Lowe sit Sunday against lefty Tarik Skubal, but it's unusual to see him remain on the bench Monday against righty Alek Manoah. He hasn't been anything close to cold at the plate recently, going 9-for-19 with a pair of homers over his last six games, so it's possible he's dealing with some sort of injury. Joey Wendle will get the start at second base.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 ROTOWIRE
David Robertson - Knocked around Sunday Robertson was charged with a blown save in Sunday's extra-innings loss to the Tigers, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits while recording a strikeout over one inning.
Impact Entrusted with a 5-2 lead when he entered in the eighth inning, Robertson faltered immediately by allowing the first four batters he faced to reach safely, a stretch that culminated in Miguel Cabrera's two-run single. Robertson would go on to yield the tying run with the aid of a Brett Phillips throwing error, saddling the 36-year-old with his first blown save of the season. Having been robbed of most of the last two seasons by injury, Robertson's stint with the Rays had started promisingly enough prior to Sunday with three scoreless one-inning outings and an 8:2 K:BB in four trips to the mound.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 ROTOWIRE
Mike Zunino - Sitting again Monday Zunino is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Zunino appears to have moved into more of a timeshare with Francisco Mejia late in the season; the former will be sitting for the third time in four games. Even with his playing time declining, Zunino has already turned in the one of the best seasons of his nine-year career. His 29 home runs are already a career-high total, and he's just eight RBI behind the personal-best mark of 64 he established in 2017 with Seattle.
