Impact Ridings tossed five major-league innings last season after an impressive showing in the upper minors, but he won't get to add to that total until at least early June. It's unclear exactly when he's expected to return, and he may not have a guaranteed spot on the 40-man roster to return to given his relative inexperience.

Heads back to minors Ridings was returned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.

Impact Ridings had served as a replacement player in the Yankees' bullpen since early August, and he posted a 1.80 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in five innings across five appearances since he joined the major-league roster. However, he'll return to the Triple-A club since Jordan Montgomery is expected to be reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list to start Tuesday's matinee against the Red Sox.
