The Mets looked within for bullpen help. Colin Holderman and Stephen Nogosek stepped up Stephen Nogosek and Collin Holderman have been strong while eating up innings since joining the Mets bullpen from Syracuse in mid-May.
Back in big-league bullpen Nogosek was recalled by the Mets on Friday, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact Nogosek was optioned Wednesday but is allowed to return just two days later with Travis Jankowski (hand) hitting the injured list. He's thrown 5.2 scoreless innings of relief thus far this season for the Mets.

Impact After striking out four over 2.2 scoreless frames in Tuesday's 13-12 loss to the Giants, Nogosek wasn't likely to be available out of the bullpen for at least the next couple of days, so the Mets opted to send him down to the minors to open up a spot on the 26-man active roster. New York called up Thomas Szapucki from Syracuse in a corresponding move, and he'll make a spot start in Wednesday's series finale in San Francisco.
