Paul DeJong - Goes deep again Sunday DeJong went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Nationals.

Impact DeJong has carried over his power from Triple-A Memphis, homering in both games since he was recalled to the Cardinals. He's also started twice at shortstop. The 29-year-old is up to three long balls, 11 RBI, eight runs scored, three stolen bases and a .143/.213/.286 slash line through 94 plate appearances, though it appears his time in the minors has at least partially helped him get back on track.

Josiah Gray - Tagged with four runs Gray (7-7) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks over five innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Cardinals.

Impact Gray allowed just one run through three frames before he served up a three-run shot to Corey Dickerson in the fourth. The 24-year-old righty posted an unsightly 6.75 ERA with a 36:10 K:BB through five starts in July. Gray is now sporting a 4.59 ERA across 102 innings this season. He's lined up to start in Philadelphia next week.

Andre Pallante - Fires gem in Washington Pallante (4-4) allowed five hits and a walk over eight shutout innings Sunday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Nationals.

Impact Pallante never let a runner get past second base in Sunday's dominant victory. He posted a 5.72 in his previous eight outings since his last scoreless appearance June 10. The 23-year-old righty set new career bests with his eight innings and eight punchouts. Pallante will carry a 3.18 ERA into his projected home outing against the Yankees next week.

Corey Dickerson - Blasts three-run homer Dickerson went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 5-0 win over Washington.

Impact Dickerson doubled and scored a run in the third inning before doing major damage against Josiah Gray with a three-run shot in the fourth. The veteran outfielder has four multi-hit performances over his last nine games, collecting five extra-base hits and nine RBI during that stretch. On the year, he's slashing .226/.276/.361 with 19 RBI and 17 runs scored through 145 plate appearances.

Impact Even though he was named a starter for the series against the Mets in advance of Sunday's contest, Abbott surprised entered the game in the ninth inning with the Cardinals holding a five-run lead. Abbott struck out two over the 21-pitch scoreless inning, which manager Dave Martinez clarified afterward was something that the right-hander asked to do in lieu of throwing a traditional between-starts bullpen session. The impromptu relief appearance shouldn't affect Abbott's workload Tuesday, but the fact that he hasn't pitched more than 4.1 innings in any of his outings for the big club or Triple-A Rochester this season means he likely won't work deep into his upcoming start.
