Orlando Arcia - Sits in second straight game Arcia is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.
Impact Phil Gosselin will pick up a second straight start at second base in place of Arcia, whose ongoing slump may have prompted manager Brian Snitker to go in a different direction. Before sitting out Monday's 6-3 win, Arcia had gone 2-for-28 with 10 strikeouts over his last eight contests.

Impact Duvall's sore left hand will keep him on the bench for the third game in a row. Eddie Rosario will cover left field in place of Duvall.

Lars Nootbaar - Losing work to Capel Nootbaar remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.
Impact Sitting for the third game in a row, Nootbaar looks to be the Cardinals' fourth outfielder at the moment, even while all of Tyler O'Neill (hamstring), Harrison Bader (foot) and Corey Dickerson (calf) are still on the injured list. Conner Capel will be rewarded with a third straight start in right field after going 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI in Monday's 6-3 loss.

Andrew Knizner - Sits in second straight game Knizner is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.
Impact Though he appeared to have settled back in as the Cardinals' No. 1 catcher while Yadier Molina (knee) remains on the injured list and after Ivan Herrera was recently optioned to Triple-A Memphis, Knizner will end up sitting for the second game in a row. New call-up Austin Romine will make another turn behind the plate as the Cardinals look to see if he can provide an upgrade over Knizner, who has produced a .523 OPS over his 145 plate appearances on the season.

Kirby Yates - Remains at spring complex Yates (elbow) continues throwing at Atlanta's spring training complex, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Impact It has been nearly two months since Yates resumed throwing, but Atlanta is not in any hurry to rush him back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in March of 2021. The expectation remains that he will be ready to rejoin Atlanta at some point in August.

Mike Soroka - Making encouraging progress Soroka (Achilles) continues throwing at Atlanta's spring training complex, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Impact It's not exactly clear where Soroka stands in his recovery, but he has been throwing for more than a month, and manager Brian Snitker said Tuesday that he is encouraged by what he has seen. Soroka is not ready for a rehab assignment as of yet, but it seems possible he could be soon.
