After giving up just one earned run while striking out nine over five innings during his rehab assignment in the minors between Sugar Land and Double-A Corpus Christi, Dubin looks poised to handle a middle-innings role out of the Astros bullpen.

Starting rehab assignment Saturday Dubin (shoulder) will be available to pitch for Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Impact Dubin started the season on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation that he experienced for most of spring training. He returned to mound work Wednesday with a bullpen session, and he'll take the next step in his throwing program by embarking on a rehab assignment Saturday. Dubin appeared in 31 regular-season games (two starts) for the Astros in 2024 and posted a 4.17 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 49:26 K:BB across 45.1 innings.

Getting back to mound work Dubin (ankle/shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday and will resume his rehab assignment shortly thereafter, MLB.com reports.

Impact Dubin has been dealing with a shoulder injury since spring training and hurt his ankle in the midst of a rehab assignment. He has yet to appear in a game at any level this season, so he may require several rehab appearances before being activated.
