Returns from IL The Guardians reinstated Armstrong (groin) from the 15-day injured list Monday.

Impact Armstrong will be taking over the 26-man active roster and bullpen spot of right-hander Codi Heuer, who was optioned to Triple-A Columbus. Shelved since April 26 due to a right groin strain, Armstrong proved his health after making two rehab appearances with Double-A Akron last week.

Impact The Guardians are planning for Armstrong to cover one inning and around 20-to-25 pitches in the appearance, which will be his first since April 21. Armstrong is working his way back from a right groin strain and probably won't need to throw more than a couple of innings on the farm before the Guardians feel comfortable bringing him back from the 15-day injured list.

Nails down ninth save Armstrong recorded his ninth save of the season in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Mets, giving up a hit and striking out two over a scoreless two-thirds of an inning.

Impact Phil Maton got the final out of the eighth inning and the first out of the ninth before handing the ball off to Armstrong after a Juan Soto single.
