Clears waivers The Marlins outrighted Anderson to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.
Impact Assuming he doesn't elect to become a free agent, Anderson will stick around in the Miami organization and continue to occupy a spot in the Jacksonville rotation. Though he owns a 2.33 ERA over six outings (five starts) with Jacksonville, Anderson has been far less successful across 14 innings in the big leagues between the Marlins and Rangers this season, logging a 9.64 ERA and 2.29 WHIP.
AUGUST 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Jettisoned from 40-man roster The Marlins designated Anderson for assignment Friday.
Impact The move will clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Xzavion Curry, who was claimed off waivers. Anderson has been torched for 19 runs (15 earned) over 14 innings at the big-league level this season between stints with the Rangers and Marlins. He seems likely to clear waivers.
AUGUST 9, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Heads back to minors The Marlins optioned Anderson to Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.
Impact Anderson saved the bullpen with 5.1 innings of relief in Monday's loss to the Reds. He wasn't going to be available to pitch for several days, so the Marlins will replace him with a fresh arm.

Called up ahead of Saturday's start The Marlins recalled Anderson from Triple-A Jacksonville ahead of his start Saturday against the Mariners.
Impact He'll be joining the rotation as a replacement for Jesus Luzardo (back), who was initially slated to start Saturday before being scratched and placed on the 15-day injured list. Luzardo is set to miss at least two turns through the rotation, but Anderson may need to pitch effectively Saturday to earn himself any starts beyond that. Since being acquired from the Rangers on May 30, the 29-year-old righty has previously made one spot start for Miami, giving up seven runs (four earned) on nine hits in two innings in a June 14 loss to the Nationals.

JUNE 15, 2024 • Associated Press
Shipped to Miami The Rangers traded Anderson to the Marlins on Thursday in exchange for cash, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact Anderson was DFA'd by Texas on Sunday, but his move to Miami will put him back on a 40-man roster. The 29-year-old righty still has a minor-league option remaining, so it's likely he moves back and forth between Miami and Triple-A Jacksonville according to the Marlins' pitching needs. Woo-suk Go was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
MAY 30, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Dropped from 40-man roster The Rangers designated Anderson for assignment Sunday.
Impact He'll cede his spot on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster to right-hander Gerson Garabito, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Round Rock ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Twins. After being called up from Round Rock on May 15, Anderson proceeded to make a pair of relief appearances for the Rangers, giving up two earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out three over 3.1 innings.
MAY 26, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Returns stateside Anderson signed a minor-league deal with the Phillies on Thursday.
Impact Anderson has pitched in the KBO to this point in 2023, posting a 3.76 ERA while maintaining a 64:26 K:BB across 79 innings. He played for the Blue Jays last season, so it's possible that Phillies could rely on him to eat innings at some point across the final two months of the campaign.
JULY 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Heading overseas Anderson agreed to a contract with the Kia Tigers of the KBO on Tuesday, Bae Bae-heon of Sports Spring and Autumn reports.
Impact Anderson appeared in one game for the Blue Jays last season and spent the rest of the campaign at the Triple-A level, where he had a 3.76 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 77:34 K:BB across 91 innings. He worked as both a starter and reliever but will likely be a rotation piece in the KBO.
NOVEMBER 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Headed to free agency Anderson elected free agency Tuesday.
Impact Anderson appeared in only one game with Toronto in 2022 and spent the rest of the campaign with Triple-A Buffalo. He posted a 3.76 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 91 innings at Triple-A, so he could be in line for a spring invite from another organization.
OCTOBER 12, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Clears waivers Anderson cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.
Impact Anderson was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Wednesday, but he'll remain in the organization. He's made 15 appearances (six starts) in the minors this year and has posted a 3.88 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 48.2 innings.
JULY 9, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Pushed off 40-man roster The Blue Jays designated Anderson for assignment Wednesday.
Impact He's been moved off the 40-man roster in favor of right-hander Matt Peacock, whom the Blue Jays claimed off waivers from the Royals. Aside from one appearance in the big leagues, Anderson has pitched exclusively at Triple-A Buffalo this season, compiling a 3.88 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 42:17 K:BB across 48.2 innings.
JULY 6, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Demoted Wednesday The Blue Jays optioned Anderson to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.
Impact The right-hander was sent back to the minors to create an opening on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen for veteran Sergio Romo, who signed a one-year deal with Toronto. Anderson made one relief appearance following his call-up Monday, giving up two earned runs on four hits over one inning.
JUNE 29, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Called up from Triple-A Anderson's contract was selected from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.
Impact Anderson was unable to land a spot on Toronto's Opening Day roster this year, but he made 14 appearances (six starts) in Buffalo and posted a 3.91 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 46 innings. He should take on a low-leverage bullpen role in the majors after Jeremy Beasley was sent down Monday.
JUNE 27, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Removed from 40-man roster Anderson was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
Impact Anderson was claimed off waivers by Toronto in mid-November, but he didn't remain on the 40-man roster for long. The right-hander appeared in 16 games between the Orioles, Twins and Padres last season, and he finished with an 8.49 ERA, 2.06 WHIP and 19:12 K:BB in 23.1 innings.
DECEMBER 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Claimed by Blue Jays Anderson was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Friday.
Impact Anderson was sent to the minors at the end of the regular season and will now find a new organization ahead of the 2022 campaign. The right-hander made 16 appearances with the Orioles, Twins and Padres in 2021 and logged a career-worst 8.49 ERA and 2.06 WHIP in 23.1 innings.
NOVEMBER 19, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Optioned to Triple-A Anderson was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
Impact Anderson spent a day in the major-league bullpen and allowed three runs on four hits and no walks in one relief inning during Thursday's loss to the Dodgers. He'll head back to the minors as part of a move after right-hander Pedro Avila's contract was selected ahead of Friday's start.
OCTOBER 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Back in majors Anderson was recalled by the Padres on Thursday.
Impact Anderson has bounced between Triple-A El Paso and San Diego since joining the team Aug. 26. He's recorded a 3.86 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across seven innings in the minors during September. Anderson will likely soak up low-leverage innings to close the season in the majors, as he's proven capable of pitching multiple frames per appearance out of the bullpen.
OCTOBER 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Sent back to minors Anderson was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
Impact Anderson was called up twice this week for very brief stints in the bullpen. He struck out a pair of batters in a scoreless inning in his lone appearance Monday against the Giants and will head back to the minors as the Padres clear a spot for Friday's starter Vince Velasquez.
SEPTEMBER 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Gets called up again The Padres recalled Anderson from Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.
Impact Anderson was previously called up from the minors Monday, only to head to the minors a day later. The Padres were able to bring him back before the minimum amount of time after Blake Snell (groin) was moved to the injured list Wednesday in a corresponding move. Anderson is expected to fill a low-leverage role out of the bullpen while he's up with San Diego.
