Nabs first save of 2021 Greene recorded the save in Wednesday's 5-3 extra-innings victory over the Padres after tossing a perfect frame while striking out two in the process.

Impact Greene was called upon in the 16th inning to preserve a two-run cushion as the Dodgers' last remaining reliever available. The 32-year-old was able to get Eric Hosmer and Tommy Pham to go down swinging before including a groundout from Adam Frazier to finally end the game. Greene turned in a much better performance Wednesday after a shaky outing in his Dodgers debut, and overall he's struggled to an 8.84 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB over 18.1 innings this season. The right-hander was an All-Star as recently as 2019, so the Dodgers are hoping he can turn things around and help contribute toward another championship run.

Signs with Dodgers Greene signed with the Dodgers on Tuesday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Impact Greene didn't have to wait long to find a new job, signing a contract just three days after getting released by Atlanta. He struggled significantly during his 17 innings for his former team, posting an 8.47 ERA and 1.82 WHIP, but the Dodgers will take a chance on him nonetheless. He should be far from completely over the hill, as he's still just 32 years old, and he had a 3.25 ERA and 1.20 WHIP from 2017 to 2020, so it's certainly possible he bounces back as a passable relief option. He's expected to join the big-league roster for the upcoming weekend series against the Mets.

Impact The right-hander's numbers are far from undeserved, as he's been scored upon in nearly half of his appearances (six of 13) this year for Atlanta. Greene's .394 BABIP should come down in the second half, but that likely won't be enough to salvage much fantasy value for him beyond the occasional hold.
