Tough-luck loss against Boston
Baz (5-15) took the loss against the Red Sox on Friday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out six across 6.1 innings.
Impact
A solo homer by Boston's Mickey Gasper in the first inning was the only run that the Red Sox scored off Baz and the Orioles. Unfortunately for Baz, his Orioles teammates couldn't get on the board themselves, resulting in the 10th loss this season that the right-hander has taken in starts in which he's allowed three earned runs or less. He has only five wins to his name this season despite posting a respectable 3.91 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 145:57 K:BB over 163.1 innings. Baz is lined up to face the Guardians at home next week, in what is shaping up to be a key series in the race for the AL Wild Card.

Snaps long losing streak Saturday
Baz (5-14) earned the win over the Athletics on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 innings.
Impact
Baz breezed through his first five innings, and Baltimore's offense staked him to a 4-0 lead. The righty faded in the sixth, giving up two runs on two hits, two walks and a hit-by-pitch before he was pulled with two outs and the bases loaded. Reliever Alex Hoppe avoided further damage, and Baz went on to record his first victory since June 12. During his 12-start winless stretch, Baz went 0-8, though he pitched to a respectable 3.35 ERA over seven starts at home and a tolerable 4.02 ERA overall during that span. He'll try to build a winning streak his next time out, which is slated to be a matchup in Baltimore against Boston.

Falls to 4-14
Baz (4-14) took the loss Sunday against Tampa Bay, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out three.
Impact
Baz held Tampa scoreless through five innings before things fell apart in the sixth, when the Rays scored three runs after stringing together four two-out hits. For Baz, it's the 12th straight outing without a win -- he's gone 0-8 despite logging seven quality starts while posting a 4.02 ERA across 69.1 innings in that span. Overall, Baz sports a 4.04 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 135:52 K:BB across 26 starts (151.1 innings) this season. He'll hope for better luck his next time out, tentatively lined up to come next weekend on the road against the A's.

Fans season-high 10 in tough loss
Baz (4-13) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks over 6.1 innings as the Orioles fell 3-1 to the Yankees. He struck out 10.
Impact
The right-hander reached double-digit strikeouts for the first time this season as he produced his 11th quality start, tying his career high, but Baz got little support from his offense. The reduced velocity he displayed in his previous outing also didn't seem to be an issue, as he topped out at 97.8 mph with his four-seam fastball. Despite the strong performance, Baz still hasn't won a game since June 12, and since the All-Star break he's gone 0-4 with a 3.44 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 33:7 K:BB over 34 innings and six starts. He'll look to break that streak of futility in his next trip to the mound, which is set to come at home this weekend in a potential revenge game against the Rays.

Velocity down in Wednesday's loss
Baz (4-12) took the loss Wednesday, coughing up five runs on nine hits and a walk over three innings as the Orioles fell 7-5 to the Twins. He struck out two.
Impact
The right-hander took his sixth straight losing decision, a streak that began June 18 against the Mariners, and more worrying for Baltimore, Baz's velocity was way down Wednesday. Per Jake Rill of MLB.com, Baz averaged 94.0 mph with his fastball and topped out at 95.4 mph, a significant drop from the 96.0 mph he's averaged with the pitch in 2026. Through 139.1 innings this season, he sports a 4.00 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 122:47 K:BB, and Baz will look to bounce back in his next outing, which lines up to come early next week at home against the Yankees.

Winless skid reaches 10 games
Baz (4-11) allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out nine over eight innings in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Rangers.
Impact
Baz was excellent for most of the night, but one mistake was enough to saddle him with another loss. The right-hander held Texas scoreless through five innings before Joc Pederson took him deep for a two-run homer in the sixth, accounting for all of the Rangers' scoring. Baz then retired the final eight batters he faced, but the offense couldn't support him with a turnaround. Despite his ugly 4-11 record, Baz owns a solid 3.76 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP. He's winless in his last 10 starts, going 0-5 with a 3.31 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over that stretch. He's scheduled to make his next start on the road against the Twins.

Tough-luck loss Saturday
Baz (4-10) took the loss Saturday against the Phillies, allowing one run on six hits and one walk in 6.1 innings. He struck out four.
Impact
It was a hard-luck loss for Baz, who held an imposing Philadelphia lineup scoreless until the fifth inning. The right-hander has found his groove after opening the year with a 5.48 ERA through his first eight starts, as he's logged nine quality starts in his last 14 outings and given up more two runs just four times during that span. Baz will carry a decent 3.86 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 111:45 K:BB over 128.1 frames into his next scheduled appearance in Texas.
