Moves up to second spot Suzuki will bat second Tuesday against the Rays, a spot he's likely to stick in long-term, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Impact Suzuki has primarily hit fifth thus far in his brief major-league career, with three appearances in the sixth spot and one as the cleanup man. There's been a trend in recent years of teams batting their best hitters second, as that spot gets an extra handful of at-bats over the course of the season compared to the number three hitter and is guaranteed to not come up with two outs and nobody on in the first inning. Suzuki has quickly emerged as the Cubs' best bat, hitting .429/.564/.929 with four homers and a 30.0 percent barrel rate through 10 games, so it makes sense that he'll receive the honor of batting second. The extra at-bats he'll receive should slightly boost his fantasy value.

Scores twice in win Suzuki went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in Monday's 4-2 win over Tampa Bay.

Impact Suzuki reached base on an error in the second inning and was brought home on Patrick Wisdom's two-run shot. He reached base three more times in the contest, singling twice and getting plunked once by Jason Adam. The 27-year-old star has multiple hits in three of his last seven games and has reached base at least once in all 10 games to begin the year. Suzuki is now slashing .429/.564/.929 through 39 plate appearances.

Goes yard once again Suzuki went 1-for-3 with a home run and two walks in Sunday's win over the Rockies.

Impact Suzuki has been outstanding to begin the year and has reached base in every single game this season while crushing his fourth long ball of the season in this one. He's hit safely in every game in which he's recorded an official at-bat so far and owns an impressive (yet unsustainable) .400/.543/.960 slash line with four homers, two doubles, 11 RBI and seven runs scored over his first 35 plate appearances (nine games).

Keeps rolling Saturday Suzuki went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and two runs scored in Saturday's loss to the Rockies.

Impact After being out of the starting lineup Friday, Suzuki got right back into a groove Saturday. He's recorded at least one hit in all seven of his starts this year and is batting .409 overall with a robust 1.442 OPS. The Japanese outfielder is adjusting quite well in his first MLB season and should be a fantasy force the rest of the way.

Gets breather Friday Suzuki isn't starting Friday's game against the Rockies.

Impact Suzuki started in each of the first six games of the season and slashed .368/.480/.895 with three homers, a double, 10 RBI and four runs. He'll get a day off, while Frank Schwindel will shift to DH with Alfonso Rivas entering the lineup at first base.

Reaches base twice in loss Suzuki went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Pirates.

Impact Suzuki just keeps rolling, as he now has nine RBI through his first five games in the majors. The 27-year-old slashed .309/.402/.541 across nine seasons in Japan, so he's certainly proven capable with the bat, though it's maybe a little bit surprising that his transition has been this smooth. Fantasy managers should sit back and enjoy the ride.

Goes deep twice Tuesday Suzuki went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.

Impact One game after hitting his first MLB home run, Suzuki followed up with a big encore, providing all the offense in the 2-1 Chicago win. The Japanese outfielder now has three long balls, eight RBI and an absurd 1.696 OPS through four contests. It looks like Suzuki is settling in nicely with the Cubs, so fantasy managers should expect good production the rest of the way, even when he inevitably cools down a bit from this scorching start.
