Healthy heading into 2026 Guenther (hip) has allowed one hit and no walks over two scoreless innings through his first two Grapefruit League appearances.

Impact Guenther is back to full health for spring training after he didn't make an appearance in the majors or minors after June 25 last season while recovering from a left hip arthroscopy. Detroit brought the 30-year-old lefty reliever back on a minor-league deal this winter, and he'll get the chance to compete for a spot in the Tigers' Opening Day bullpen throughout the spring.

Re-signs with Detroit The Tigers re-signed Guenther (hip) to a minor-league contract Tuesday.

Impact Guenther was non-tendered by the Tigers in November but will return to the organization on a minor-league deal. The left-hander underwent a left hip arthroscopy in July and it's not clear whether he will be fully cleared to participate in spring training.

Impact Left hip surgery ended Guenther's season in early July after he made nine appearances (one start) with the big-league club over the first two months of the campaign. The left-hander put an impressive 0.86 ERA and 0.52 WHIP in 21 innings out of the Detroit bullpen during the 2024 regular season, and that run of success may be enough to land him on another team's 40-man roster.
