JULY 26 • Associated Press

Losing work to Moore Kingery is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Impact After making three straight starts at second base from last Sunday through Tuesday, Kingery now finds himself on the bench for a fourth game in a row. Kingery looks as though he'll be limited to a utility role while the Angels give prospect Christian Moore a chance to solidify himself as the team's everyday second baseman following his promotion from Triple-A Salt Lake.
JUNE 15 • ROTOWIRE
Sitting after three straight starts Kingery is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact Luis Rengifo will shift over from third base to second base Wednesday, but Kingery covered the keystone in each of the Angels' previous three contests and could serve as the primary option at the position until one of Yoan Moncada (knee) or Chris Taylor (hand) returns from the injured list. Since getting a call-up from Triple-A Salt Lake on May 28, Kingery has gone 2-for-16 with a double, a walk and a run over six games with the Angels.

MAY 29 • Associated Press
Headed to big leagues The Angels selected Kingery's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.
Impact Kingery struggled in spring training and was unable to crack the Angels' Opening Day roster, but he has played well in Triple-A with a slash line of .373/.418/.578 with one steal, two home runs and 12 RBI in 91 plate appearances. His next appearance in an Angels' uniform will be his first major-league action since 2021 as a member of the Phillies. Kingery take the spot on the Angels' 26-man roster vacated by Tim Anderson, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
MAY 28 • ROTOWIRE
Outrighted to Salt Lake Kingery cleared waivers Saturday and was sent outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Impact Kingery was dropped from the Angels' 40-man roster Monday after going just 4-for-29 during spring training. However, he finished the Triple-A season with an .826 OPS across 507 plate appearances last year, and a similar output in 2025 could allow him to return to the majors for the first time in four years.
MARCH 22 • ROTOWIRE
Bumped from 40-man roster Kingery was designated for assignment by the Angels on Monday.
Impact Kingery was in the mix for the starting shortstop gig early on in camp, but he appears to have lost out on the job after being booted from the 40-man roster to make room for the acquisition of Angel Perdomo from Atlanta. Kingery would begin the 2025 season with Triple-A Salt Lake and would be a candidate for a mid-season promotion if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Candidate to open as starting SS Kingery is among a group of infielders vying to begin the regular season as the Angels' starter at shortstop while Zach Neto continues his recovery from offseason shoulder surgery,...
Impact Kingery didn't play in the majors last season, but he had a good campaign at the Triple-A level, slashing .273/.321/.505 with 27 homers, 70 RBI, 76 runs and 26 stolen bases. The Angels acquired the 2015 second-round draft pick in a trade with Philadelphia in November, and he was added to the team's 40-man roster a few days later. Kingery has struggled during his previous stints in the majors; he has a .667 OPS and 28.4 percent strikeout rate over 1,127 career regular-season plate appearances. Punchouts have been a problem for him this spring as well, as he's fanned seven times in 19 at-bats. Kevin Newman and Tim Anderson are other candidates to hold down the fort at shortstop until Neto is able to return to action, with Newman described by Bollinger as having a "leg up" among the group for the role.
MARCH 6 • ROTOWIRE
Agrees to one-year deal Kingery agreed to a one-year contract with the Angels to avoid arbitration Thursday, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.
Impact Kingery hasn't appeared in the majors since 2021, but the Angels acquired him from the Phillies on Nov. 1 and added him to the 40-man roster three days later. He should have a chance to compete for a bench role in the middle infield during spring training.
NOVEMBER 15, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Added to Halos' 40-man roster The Angels selected Kingery's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
Impact Kingery spent the last two seasons with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, but he was acquired by the Angels on Friday in exchange for cash considerations. Across 125 regular-season outings for Lehigh in 2024, he slased .273/.321/.505 with 26 stolen bases, 27 home runs and 70 RBI over 507 plate appearances. He last played in the majors in 2021 with the Phillies, during which he went 1-for-19 with 12 strikeouts across 15 regular-season games.
NOVEMBER 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Traded to Angels The Angels acquired Kingery from the Phillies on Friday in exchange for cash considerations.
Impact Kingery, 30, has spent each of the last two seasons at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, most recently hitting .268/.316/.488 with 25 home runs and 25 stolen bases there in 2024. The former top prospect hasn't received an extended look in the majors since 2019, but perhaps he'll get another shot in his new organization.
