Tommy Kahnle - Picks up seventh save Kahnle struck out two in two perfect innings Wednesday to record his seventh save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Giants.
Impact With Will Vest having picked up saves in the first two games of the series Monday and Tuesday, Kahnle was brought in to bail out John Brebbia with runners on second and third and nobody out in the eighth inning. After escaping that jam, Kahnle stayed on the mound and dispatched San Francisco's 2-3-4 hitters in the ninth to earn his second save in May. Vest appears to be the preferred closing option for Detroit right now, but Kahnle remains in the ninth-inning mix thanks to a 1.52 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB through 23.2 innings.

Heliot Ramos - Clubs homer No. 10 Ramos went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Tigers.
Impact The 25-year-old outfielder took Jackson Jobe deep in the fifth inning to give the Giants a 3-0 lead that quickly evaporated in the bottom of the frame. Ramos has been on fire in May, batting .345 (30-for-87) with six of his 10 homers on the season, along with 14 runs and 18 RBI through 23 games.

Landen Roupp - Fans seven in Wednesday's loss Roupp (3-4) took the loss Wednesday, giving up four runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over four-plus innings as the Giants fell 4-3 to the Tigers. He struck out seven.
Impact The right-hander extended his scoreless streak to 16 innings by blanking Detroit through four frames, but things fell apart for Roupp and the Giants when a Matt Chapman error put Jake Rogers aboard to lead off the bottom of the fifth. The seven Ks did represent Roupp's best performance since he racked up nine strikeouts against the Angels on April 19. He'll take a 3.54 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 56:20 K:BB through 56 innings into his next start, which is likely to come at home next week against the Padres.
