Impact Marte walked slowly to first base with a team trainer before exiting the game. Whether or not he suffered a significant injury is not yet clear. If he's forced to miss time at the start of the regular season, Daulton Varsho or Tim Locastro could see starts in center field.

Faces pitching Monday Ahmed (knee) took at-bats Monday against teammate Luke Weaver at the Diamondbacks' spring facility, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Impact Ahmed hasn't appeared in any Cactus League games since March 6 due to a sore right knee, but his activity Monday would seem to hint that he could soon rejoin the Diamondbacks' spring lineup. Since Opening Day is still two weeks away, Ahmed still has sufficient time to get up to full speed.

Sent to minor-league camp The Giants reassigned Jackson to their minor-league camp Monday.
Impact Of the 17 non-roster invitees the Giants cut from big-league camp, Jackson was one of only three who had logged prior service time in the majors. Jackson showed an ability to make bats miss over his 28 appearances with the Brewers in 2019 (13.9 K/9 in 30.1 innings), but poor command and control likely prevented him from getting a look in the big leagues in 2020, when he was a member of the Reds organization.

Reassigned to MiLB camp The Giants assigned Alcantara to their minor-league camp Monday.
Impact Alcantara was one of 25 players included in Monday's round of cuts as the Giants reduced their big-league spring roster from 74 to 49 men. The 29-year-old has more than a year of big-league service time on his resume, but he hasn't appeared in the majors since 2017 with the Reds.

Sent to minor-league camp The Giants assigned Basabe (wrist) to their minor-league camp Monday.
Impact Basabe was ruled out for 6-to-8 weeks after suffering a significant left wrist sprain in a March 9 Cactus League game against the Brewers, so the Giants' decision to include him in this round of roster cuts hardly comes as a surprise. He'll look to get back to full health in advance of the Triple-A season, which begins in May.
