Impact The 32-year-old right-hander will probably work in bulk relief behind lefty opener Scott Alexander on Friday. After signing a two-year, $25 million contract with San Francisco over the winter, Stripling has struggled to a 5.21 ERA through 67.1 innings (11 starts, six relief appearances) this season.

Impact Beck was called on with one on and no outs in the sixth inning, but he allowed three straight batters to reach base. Impact Pollock is slashing .165/.215/.308 through 144 plate appearances on the season, so the Giants won't be losing much production at the plate, but their depth will take a hit through the end of August. Heliot Ramos was brought up from Triple-A to temporarily fill Pollock's spot on the roster but likely won't be used often off the bench.
