Impact Walker did his part to the keep the Rays offense at bay, but primary pitcher Tristan Beck (five runs allowed over three innings) was unable to continue the trend once he took over in the top of the third. Expect manager Gabe Kapler to continue making frequent use of Walker as an opener while the Giants have only two locked-in traditional starters at the moment in Logan Webb and Alex Cobb. In nine outings as an opener this season, Walker has produced a 2.40 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 25.0 K-BB% in 15 innings.

Thairo Estrada - Third straight multi-hit game Estrada went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 10-2 loss to the Rays.
Impact Estrada accounted for the Giants' only run-producing plays of the night, driving in Joc Pederson on a base hit in the fifth inning before doubling home Michael Conforto in the eighth. The 27-year-old has now strung together three straight multi-hit games after having gone 0-for-12 with five strikeouts in the preceding three contests.

Impact Meckler began the campaign in High-A ball but was promoted to the majors Monday after mashing at three different minor-league levels. The outfielder demonstrated a good eye at the plate with a 39:43 BB:K over 69 minor-league contests, so it wasn't surprising that he took a walk in his big-league debut, though he also struck out twice. Meckler should get an opportunity to log consistent at-bats out the gate, but he may have a short leash since the Giants are in the midst of a tight battle for a wild-card spot int he National League.
