Impact Jake Cronenworth will start Friday in Kim's place, but Melvin added that Kim is expected to return to the lineup Saturday. The 27-year-old infielder is slashing .237/.316/.382 through 172 plate appearances this season.

Impact Kim had to be helped off the field Thursday after he fouled a ball off his left knee. Although his X-rays came back negative, chances were that Kim would miss Friday's contest no matter what. He'll be replaced at second base by Jake Cronenworth, allowing Brandon Dixon to start at first and bat seventh.
