Marco Luciano - Advances to batting practice Luciano (back) has progressed to taking regular rounds of batting practice in Giants camp, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Impact Luciano appears to be nearing the end of his recovery from that back injury that he sustained while playing in the Dominican Winter League. If all continues to go well, the 21-year-old shortstop prospect should be ready for the start of Double-A Richmond's regular-season schedule. He put up an .817 OPS in 65 games last year between the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and High-A Eugene.

Impact Waites has been on the shelf all camp due to a right lat strain he suffered prior to the start of spring training. He's evidently made some nice progress of late, although it might be a push getting him ready in time for Opening Day.

Impact Auerbach had been relegated to minor-league camp after he was recently diagnosed with neuritis in his left elbow, but he's made much quicker progress than anticipated and was cleared to rejoin the Giants' big-league group. The 24-year-old backstop posted a .709 OPS for Double-A Richmond over 425 plate appearances in 2022 and is likely to take over as the No. 1 backstop for Triple-A Sacramento in 2023.
