Randy Vásquez - Set to pitch Friday for Padres The Padres recalled Vasquez from Triple-A El Paso on Thursday, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.
Impact The Padres added Michael King to the 15-day injured list due to left knee inflammation, so the Padres recalled Vasquez in a corresponding move. Vasquez will either start Friday or serve as the primary pitcher behind an opener. He made one start for Triple-A El Paso on Aug. 10 after he was optioned Aug. 3, but he gave up five runs across three innings of work.

Michael King - Back on IL The Padres placed King on the 15-Day injured list, retroactive to Monday, with left knee inflammation.
Impact King was set to take the mound against the Dodgers on Friday, but has to return to the injured list after coming off of it Aug. 9. He was able to make just one start in which he tossed 61 pitches after missing time since mid-May. In a corresponding move, the Padres recalled Randy Vasquez from Triple-A El Paso on Thursday.
