Xander Bogaerts - Two hits in return Bogaerts went 2-for-4 in Friday's 6-1 loss to Atlanta.
Impact Bogaerts, who was activated from the injured list earlier in the day due to a fractured left shoulder, was the only Padre to put up multiple hits in the contest. It was his first game action since May 20, and he played the full game at second base, which suggests he's healthy enough to handle a starting role. Luis Arraez and Jake Cronenworth are likely to be impacted by Bogaerts' return, though there's room for all three of them in the lineup against right-handers, at the expense of Donovan Solano. Bogaerts is slashing .225/.270/.319 over 204 plate appearances this season, adding four home runs, four stolen bases, 14 RBI and 23 runs scored.

Impact Waldron has gone at least six innings in eight of his last nine starts, but this was the first time since May 5 he was tagged for four earned runs. He's now on a four-start winless skid, though he hasn't pitched poorly. Waldron is starting to have some trouble with homers -- after giving up two in the fifth inning Friday, he's been tagged for six long balls over his last five starts. The right-hander is still fairly reliable with a 3.71 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 93:31 K:BB through 106.2 innings through 19 starts this season, and struggling against Atlanta's strong lineup isn't overly concerning.

Impact Sullivan will end up as the odd man out of San Diego's roster following the return of Xander Bogaerts (shoulder), who was reinstated from the IL on Friday. Sullivan was rarely able to see the field while behind Luis Campusano and Kyle Higashioka on the depth chart, appearing in just four games since being recalled from the minors June 22. He'll now serve as organizational depth as he returns to Triple-A.

Wandy Peralta - IL move official The Padres placed Peralta on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to July 10, with a left adductor strain.
Impact Peralta sustained the groin strain during an appearance against Seattle on Tuesday and hasn't pitched since. His move to the IL opens up a spot on the active roster for Sean Reynolds. Peralta will be eligible to return in late July.

Impact Reynolds is set to make his MLB debut after taking Wandy Peralta's (groin) spot on the active roster. Reynolds was traded to San Diego from the Marlins last August and has appeared in 29 games with El Paso this season, three of which were starts. He'll pitch out of the bullpen for the Padres.
