INJURIES

Optioned after Saturday's start The Angels optioned Aldegheri to Triple-A Salt Lake following Saturday's start against the Red Sox.
Impact Grayson Rodriguez (back) is close to returning from the 15-day injured list, so Aldegheri will be sent down to the minors to open up a spot in the Angels' rotation. Aldegheri took the loss Saturday against Boston and has an 8.10 ERA 1.56 WHIP over his last four starts spanning 16.2 innings. He'll continue to work on his craft with Salt Lake but hasn't been that much better across his nine starts in Triple-A, where has a 7.24 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 32:23 K:BB across 46 frames.

Done in by poor first frame Aldegheri (3-4) took the loss against Boston on Saturday, allowing three runs on one hit and four walks while striking out two batters over four innings.
Impact Aldegheri gave up all of his runs in the first inning, when he walked two of the first three batters he faced before Willson Contreras tagged him for a three-run homer. Following that blast, the lefty hurler allowed only three more baserunners (on two walks and an error) and no more runs, but the damage was enough to send him to the loss. The four walks were a season worst for Aldegheri, though he's issued three free passes on two occasions and has a poor 4.5 BB/9 on the campaign. Grayson Rodriguez (back) is nearing the end of his stint on the IL, and Aldegheri is a candidate to be removed from the rotation when Rodriguez returns.

Earns third win Aldegheri (3-3) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over five innings against the Athletics. He struck out four.
Impact Aldegheri turned in a solid effort, tossing four scoreless innings before running into trouble in the fifth frame, though he limited the damage to just one run. Sunday's outing was a step in the right direction for the young left-hander after he allowed 11 earned runs across 7.2 innings over his previous two starts. Aldegheri will take a 4.85 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 20:13 K:BB across 29.2 innings and eight appearances (five starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Red Sox.

Surrenders five runs Aldegheri (2-3) allowed five runs on five hits and a walk while striking out three over 4.2 innings to take the loss versus the Orioles on Monday.
Impact Keeping the ball down was a problem. Taylor Ward led off the game with a home run, and Coby Mayo added a three-run blast in the fourth inning that did most of the damage to Aldegheri's line. He's now allowed 11 runs over his last 7.2 innings. On the season, the southpaw has a 5.47 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 16:12 K:BB through 24.2 innings over seven appearances (four starts). Aldegheri is tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Athletics.

Chased early in second loss Aldegheri (2-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks in three innings. He struck out one.
Impact Aldegheri didn't last long Wednesday during his third start of the year, serving up a grand slam to Corbin Carroll in the second inning. The 24-year-old left-hander gave up a season-worst six runs and eight hits in what was his shortest outing as a starter so far as well. Aldegheri is next tentatively lined up to take the ball against the Orioles, but he now holds an underwhelming 4.50 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 13:11 K:BB over 20 innings.

Stays in rotation for another turn Aldegheri is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
Impact He'll be making a second straight turn in the rotation spot that previously belonged to Jack Kochanowicz (elbow), who is slated to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery in the near future. Aldegheri picked up his second win of the season in his previous start last Friday, working five innings and striking out four batters while yielding two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks. Over five appearances (two starts) for the Halos on the season, Aldegheri owns a 2.12 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 12:8 K:BB in 17 innings.

Pitches well in second start Aldegheri (2-1) allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings to earn the win over the Rays on Friday.
Impact Aldegheri is getting the first chance to fill the rotation spot that became open when Jack Kochanowicz (elbow) was shut down ahead of his upcoming Tommy John surgery. This was a good performance for Aldegheri, though he threw just 45 of 74 pitches for strikes. He's pitched to a 2.12 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 12:8 K:BB over 17 innings across five appearances (two starts) in the majors this season. The southpaw will need to get the walks in check, but the Angels should have plenty of patience to let him work through things in the majors. He is tentatively expected to make his next start at Arizona.

Entering rotation Friday Aldegheri will start Friday's game against the Rays in Anaheim, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact After Aldegheri was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday, the Angels initially made him available out of the bullpen. Aldegheri made a one-inning, eight-pitch appearance in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Astros, but since he wasn't needed for either of the remaining two games of the series, he'll be ready to step into the vacant fifth spot in the rotation. With Jack Kochanowicz (elbow) headed for season-ending Tommy John surgery, Aldegheri should have a clear path to a permanent stay in the rotation if he performs well. The 24-year-old lefty has permitted three runs on 11 hits and five walks while striking out eight batters over 12 innings at the big-league level this season but posted an unsightly 7.24 ERA and 1.72 WHIP across 46 frames at Triple-A.

Recalled by Halos The Angels recalled Aldegheri from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.
Impact The move corresponds with the Angels placing right-hander Jack Kochanowicz on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation. Aldegheri has spent the majority of the 2026 season in Triple-A, where he has a 3-4 record in nine starts with a 7.24 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 32:23 K:BB across 46 innings. He's appeared in three major-league games for the Angels this year and his last outing was this past Tuesday against the Rockies, when he tossed 5.1 scoreless innings while allowing four hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
JUNE 7 • ROTOWIRE
Back in minors The Angels optioned Aldegheri to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.
Impact After pitching 5.1 shutout innings out of the bullpen in Tuesday's contest, Aldegheri will head back to Triple-A to make room for Shaun Anderson, who was selected to the active roster in a corresponding move. Aldegheri now owns a 2.45 ERA and 1.36 WHIP through 11 innings in the majors and could be a candidate for a spot start with the Halos later this year.
JUNE 3 • ROTOWIRE
Recalled from Salt Lake The Angels recalled Aldegheri from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
Impact The 24-year-old southpaw will return to the majors to give the Angels another fresh arm in the bullpen, replacing Jose Fermin. Aldegheri has given up three earned runs in 5.2 innings with the Halos this season but has struggled considerably in the minors, posting a 7.24 ERA and 1.72 WHIP through 46 frames at Salt Lake. He'll likely be limited to low-leverage work as long as he's with the big club.

Sent back to Triple-A The Angels optioned Aldegheri to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.
Impact Aldegheri made what turned out to be just a spot start Tuesday versus the White Sox, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over four innings. He will return to the rotation at Salt Lakee, where he's posted a 7.77 ERA and 23:13 K:BB over 24.1 frames this season.

Yields two runs in short start Aldegheri allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over four innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Tuesday. He didn't strike out any batters.
Impact Aldegheri was summoned from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday and was tabbed to start one day later. The southpaw had a rough first inning, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks before retiring a batter, but he settled down thereafter and didn't allow Chicago to score over the remainder of his outing. However, Aldegheri was pulled after just four frames and 69 pitches despite the fact that he had thrown six innings and 97 pitches in his most recent minor-league start last Tuesday. Yusei Kikuchi (shoulder) landed on the IL on Tuesday, so there's at least a temporary opening in the Angels' rotation, which could mean that Aldegheri will get additional starts moving forward.
