Taking seat versus southpaw Antonacci is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Impact Antonacci will join fellow left-handed hitters Andrew Benintendi, Tristan Peters and Reese McGuire on the bench for the series finale in Sacramento while southpaw Jeffrey Springs toes the rubber for the Athletics. After being called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, Antonacci started in each of the White Sox's ensuing four games, going 1-for-15 with two walks, a stolen base and a run.

On base twice in debut Antonacci went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Wednesday against the Rays.
Impact Antonacci had his contract selected Wednesday and hit fifth in the White Sox's order while playing second base. He led off the second inning with a single to record his first big-league hit, and he similarly began the ninth inning with a walk to begin a rally. Antonacci should remain a consistent presence in lineup, though he'll primarily play in left field.

White Sox call up another top prospect, selecting Sam Antonacci's contract from Triple-A

The White Sox have called up another top prospect
APRIL 15 • Associated Press
Starting at second base in debut Antonacci will start at second base and bat fifth Wednesday versus the Rays in his major-league debut.
Impact Most of Antonacci's playing time at Triple-A Charlotte this season has been in left field, but he will handle second base Wednesday while Chase Meidroth gets a day off. Antonacci could ultimately settle in as a super utility player for the White Sox. The 23-year-old slashed .313/.500/.479 at Charlotte to earn his first big-league promotion.

Receives call to majors The White Sox selected Antonacci's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
Impact The White Sox had sent some mixed signals over the weekend regarding whether or not Antonacci would be in line for a promotion to the majors, but after further deliberation, the organization has elected to move the 23-year-old up to the big-league squad. Antonacci forced the White Sox's hand after a red-hot start to the season at Triple-A Charlotte, with whom he produced a .313/.500/.479 slash line, two home runs and five stolen bases while striking out in just 11.9 percent of his 67 plate appearances.

Promotion not locked in The White Sox have discussed the option of calling up Antonacci from Triple-A Charlotte, but the team has "nothing in motion as of yet" in terms of promoting him, Bruce Levine of 6...
Impact Multiple sources reported Saturday that the White Sox were planning to select Antonacci's contract ahead of their three-game home series versus the Rays that begins Tuesday, but Levine relays that the organization has merely considered a promotion for the 23-year-old at this stage. Even if he isn't in line to get called up during the upcoming week, Antonacci likely won't have to wait much longer before making his big-league debut. He's gotten off to a sizzling start through his first 13 games with Charlotte, slashing .289/.484/.444 with two home runs and five steals while striking out just seven times in 63 plate appearances.

Slated to be called up Tuesday The White Sox are expected to select Antonacci's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Elijah Evans of JustBaseball.com reports.
Impact Antonacci has blazed through the minors since being drafted in 2024, and in 12 games with Charlotte this season he's slashing .299/.445/.419 with two homers, six RBI and four stolen bases. Power isn't expected to be a primary asset -- he went deep just five times over 520 plate appearances across three levels last year -- but he has a potentially elite hit tool and plenty of speed, racking up 48 thefts in 58 attempts in the minors last season. He was strictly an infielder last year, playing primarily at second base, but has played mostly in left field in 2026 and could see ample time there with the White Sox, especially since Austin Hays (hamstring) landed on the injured list Tuesday.

Reaches 45 steals Antonacci is slashing .294/.442/.366 with zero home runs, 18 steals, a 13.5 percent walk rate and a 14.5 percent strikeout rate in 45 games for Double-A Birmingham.
Impact Antonacci, who will play in the Arizona Fall League this year, was selected by the White Sox in the fifth round last year and received a $572,500 bonus out of Coastal Carolina. Despite the fact Antonacci has hit four home runs in 135 career games, he has been at least 50 percent better than the average hitter in every league he has played in, thanks to superb swing decisions and bat-to-ball ability. He has a 5.9 percent swinging-strike rate this year as an age-appropriate hitter at Double-A and his contact rates have always been elite. Antonacci has 45 steals in 112 games this year and figures to get a good amount of work at Triple-A next year, with a big-league debut not out of the question. Nico Hoerner would be a best-case scenario for Antonacci in fantasy, although Antonacci's defense at the keystone is merely average while Hoerner's is double-plus, and the White Sox have a handful of infielders set to compete for playing time in the coming years.
