Sitting Sunday
O'Hearn is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox.
Impact
O'Hearn is usually a fixture in the lineup against righties like Chicago's Dylan Cease, but he'll exit the lineup to make room for Salvador Perez, who is getting a day off behind the plate and starting at first base instead. Since being activated from the COVID-19 injured list Monday, O'Hearn has gone 6-for-18 with two doubles, a walk, two runs and five RBI.

Back from IL
The Royals activated Gallagher from the COVID-19 injured list Sunday.
Impact
Fellow catcher Oscar Hernandez was designated for assignment in a corresponding move, clearing the way for Gallagher to take over as the No. 2 backstop behind Salvador Perez. While Perez will see the bulk of the work behind the dish, Gallagher will draw the start at catcher in the series finale Sunday with the White Sox while Perez receives a turn at first base, per Alec Lewis of The Athletic.

Three hits in loss
Perez went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox.
Impact
It was his first multi-hit game of the year. Perez hasn't shown much rust at the plate after missing all of 2019 due to Tommy John surgery, going 8-for-32 (.250) with two homers and five RBI while starting all eight games so far for the Royals.

Struggles in return to mound
Fulmer allowed four runs on five hits and a walk across two innings in a no-decision Monday against the Royals. He struck out two.
Impact
Making his first MLB start since 2018, Fulmer was done in by the long ball, as he allowed home runs to Maikel Franco, Whit Merrifield and Salvador Perez. The Tigers capped Fulmer at 47 pitches, and the righty figures to have his workload carefully monitored in his first year back after Tommy John surgery, which limits his fantasy appeal. He lines up to start again Sunday against the Reds, though he'll likely face another innings/pitch count restriction in that outing.

Bounces back after ugly first
Clevinger allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Saturday. He struck out six and did not issue a walk.
Impact
His season got off to a rough start, with Jorge Soler and Salvador Perez hitting back-to-back homers off Clevinger in the first inning. However, Clevinger settled in nicely and got through seven on 90 pitches, allowing just two hits the rest of the way. The right-hander now lines up for three consecutive road starts: at Minnesota, at Cincinnati, at the White Sox.

Strikes out three times
Perez went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts during Friday's 2-0 loss against the Indians.
Impact
Perez landed on the IL after testing positive for COVID-19 earlier this month, but he recovered in time to start behind the plate in the season debut. In fact, he was only one of four Royals to record a hit in a game where the entire offense struggled. Perez hit for .235 with 27 homers and 80 RBI last season, and he has cleared the 20-homer plateau in each of the past four campaigns.
