More control issues Tuesday
Chandler (1-4) allowed two runs on two hits and six walks while striking out four over five innings to take the loss versus Arizona on Tuesday.
Impact
Chandler has walked at least four batters in four of his seven outings so far, which has largely prevented him from pitching deep into games. He's worked into the sixth inning just twice so far. Arizona wasn't able to take full advantage of Chandler's struggles, as he continues to do a mostly decent job of limiting damage despite the flaws in his game. He has a 4.76 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 31:26 K:BB through 34 innings this season. Chandler is tentatively projected to make his next start over the weekend in San Francisco.

Struggles with control in loss
Chandler (1-3) took the loss Wednesday against the Cardinals, allowing three runs on three hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out six.
Impact
Although Chandler gave up only three hits and tied a season high in punchouts, each knock went for extra bases Wednesday. Control remained an issue as well for the hard-throwing right-hander, who issued multiple walks for the fifth time in six starts this season. Chandler has a disappointing 4.97 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 27:20 K:BB over 29 innings, and he'll be looking for better command in his next scheduled outing in Arizona.

Struggles in worst start of season
Chandler (1-2) took the loss against Texas on Thursday, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four batters over four innings.
Impact
Chandler got through two scoreless frames before giving up two runs in the third inning and four in the fourth. The final blow against him was a Corey Seager three-run homer, which was the second long ball Chandler allowed in the game. The right-hander's four frames and six runs allowed were both season-worst marks, and the poor outing pushed his ERA up from 3.15 to 4.88 through five starts. Chandler will look to get back on track in his next appearance, which is slated to be a home matchup against St. Louis.

First win of 2026
Chandler (1-1) earned the win against the Rays on Friday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out three across six innings.
Impact
Chandler punched out only three batters while generating eight whiffs, but he was incredibly efficient with his pitches, tossing 62 strikes on 90 pitches (68.9 percent). He retired 15 of the first 16 batters he faced, and he limited the damage in the sixth inning to one run after allowing three baserunners on. Not only was it Chandler's first win of the season, it was also his first quality start and the first time he completed six frames. He has yielded three earned runs or less in each of his first four outings of the season and has a 3.15 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 17:13 K:BB across 20 innings. Chandler is lined up to face the Rangers on the road next week.

Strikes out four over 5.1 innings
Chandler didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Cubs, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts across 5.1 innings.
Impact
Chandler struck out Seiya Suzuki to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning, and his afternoon was done at 91 pitches. Hunter Barco closed out the sixth, and Chandler was in line for the win before the bullpen imploded late. Chandler's stuff was electric Sunday, but he was hurt by the long ball on a day the wind was gusting out to center field. Chandler served up a pair of solo shots to Dansby Swanson and Moises Ballesteros in the third inning. Chandler is still looking for his first win of the season and now owns a 3.86 ERA and 14:12 K:BB across 14 innings. Command has obviously been a problem. Chandler is in line to face the Rays at home Friday.

Undone by control issues
Chandler (0-1) took the loss Monday against the Padres, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings.
Impact
After walking six batters in 4.1 no-hit innings in his season debut, free passes remained an issue in this outing, as Chandler struggled to consistently locate despite flashing elite velocity, touching 101 mph with his fastball. Following finding the zone with just 48 of his 83 pitches Monday, the right-hander expressed frustration postgame, noting "Hits are fine, it's stuff that's going to happen, but not competing in the zone is just pathetic.". Walks weren't an issue during his brief 2025 stint, when the 23-year-old issued just four across 31.1 innings of work. Chandler will look to regain that level of control in his next scheduled start against the Cubs.
