Competition resumes Guzman and Greg Bird will resume their competition for the starting first base job in summer camp, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports. Impact Guzman and Bird were locked in a battle during spring training, but neither player separated himself. Guzman was 7-for-33 (.212) and Bird was 3-for-29 (.103). Additionally, it's not set in stone that the starter will be one of these two guys. The Rangers are kicking around the idea of moving Todd Frazier from third base to first, an option that became more attractive when the team saw the production Isiah Kiner-Falefa (14-for-37, .378, four HR, 11 RBI) put up in 15 games.
