Rehab transferred to Double-A Marinaccio's rehab assignment was transferred from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to Double-A Somerset on Friday.
Impact The move is likely based on geography, as Somerset plays at home this weekend while SWB is on the road in Lehigh Valley. Marinaccio logged one inning in an appearance Friday, striking out the side on 17 pitches, and he has struck out five batters in two rehab innings thus far. Per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, the righty reliever could rejoin the Yankees as soon as Sunday.

Starting rehab assignment Sunday Marinaccio (shoulder) is set to commence his rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barres on Sunday.
Impact Marinaccio has been out since July 2 while dealing with right shoulder inflammation, but it appears possible that he will return to the team following the All-Star break after he starts his rehab assignment Sunday. The right-hander owns a 2.33 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 23 strikeouts over 19.1 innings in his first 17 career appearances this season.

Set for side session Marinaccio (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact Marinaccio will advance to mound work after his inflamed right shoulder responded well to long toss. The rookie reliever noted that his time on the 15-day injured list has allowed him to adjust some flaws in his mechanics, so he's hopeful that he'll remain effective upon returning from the shelf, likely at some point after the All-Star break. Marinaccio produced a 2.33 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in 19.1 innings before landing on the IL on July 2.
JULY 12, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Could start throwing by weekend Marinaccio (shoulder) is currently shut down from throwing but could begin tossing lightly this weekend, Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media reports.
Impact Marinaccio was placed on the injured list Saturday, so it's not surprising that he's currently not throwing. The fact that he could resume tossing a baseball this weekend suggests that he may not be facing an extended absence. Yankees manager Aaron Boone seemed to suggest that scenario Sunday, stating, "Ronnie's obviously a younger guy and going through the grind of the major-league season for the first time. Instead of just kind of pushing through this right now and maybe have it be a lingering issue, it's best to give him a few days and try to keep him as strong and fresh as possible."

Heading to injured list Marinaccio will be placed on the 15-day injured list with shoulder inflammation, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
Impact Manager Aaron Boone described the issue as "dead arm" earlier Saturday. The diagnosis has changed, but either way, Marinaccio's excellent rookie season will be put on hold for at least a couple weeks. Marinaccio threw a scoreless inning in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader and now has a 2.33 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in his first 17 MLB appearances.

Continues strong campaign Marinaccio earned a hold against the Athletics on Monday, striking out the only batter he faced.
Impact The right-hander was called upon in the sixth inning to face Ramon Laureano, who represented the potential tying run. Marinaccio struck out Laureano on four pitches to preserve New York's 2-0 lead. The rookie reliever has pitched mostly in lower-leverage situations, but he has been very effective, registering a 2.60 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 21:9 K:BB over 17.1 innings.

Claims first big-league victory Marinaccio (1-0) earned the win over the Cubs on Friday, pitching a scoreless inning during which he allowed one walk and struck out one batter.
Impact Runs were tough to come by for both teams in the contest -- so much so that neither the Yankees nor the Cubs were able to score through three extra frames despite starting off each of those innings with a designated runner. Marinaccio was responsible for fending off Chicago in the top of the 13th, and he did so successfully by retiring three straight batters after issuing a walk to begin the inning. The rookie right-hander was then credited with his first win in the majors when the Yankees walked off with a victory in the bottom of the frame. Marinaccio also has one hold this season, but he has been used primarily in low-leverage situations.
JUNE 11, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Fans three in relief Marinaccio pitched two scoreless innings against Minnesota on Tuesday, allowing one hit and striking out three.
Impact Marinaccio entered in the eighth inning with New York ahead by four runs. The right-hander kept the Twins from mounting any sort of a comeback, allowing just two baserunners on a single and hit-by-pitch. Marinaccio encountered some struggles near the end of April, but since returning to the majors May 21 he has pitched 5.1 scoreless frames while notching an 8:2 K:BB.

Recalled by Yankees Marinaccio was recalled by the Yankees on Saturday.
Impact The right-hander spent a week and a half in the minors after being sent down May 11, but he'll provide additional bullpen depth after Chad Green (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday. Marinaccio has made four relief appearances for the Yankees this year and has allowed five runs in four innings.
MAY 21, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Back to farm The Yankees optioned Marinaccio to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jays.
Impact Marinaccio didn't see any usage out of the bullpen following his call-up from Triple-A on Sunday. The Yankees haven't announced an immediate replacement for Marinaccio on the 26-man active roster, but the team now has an opening to bring aboard Luis Gil from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in advance of his scheduled spot start Thursday against the White Sox.
MAY 11, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Called up from Triple-A The Yankees recalled Marinaccio from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
Impact He'll join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for outfielder Tim Locastro (back), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday. After surprisingly winning a spot in the Yankees' Opening Day bullpen, Marinaccio gave up five earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out six in four innings over his four relief appearances before he was optioned to Triple-A on April 28.

Optioned to Triple-A Marinaccio was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.
Impact Marinaccio tossed 2.1 scoreless innings during his first two appearances of the season, but he allowed five runs in 1.2 innings over his last two outings. The right-hander posted a 2.03 ERA and 0.93 WHIP in 66.1 minor-league relief innings last year and will attempt to turn things around at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
