Rookie Ryan Mountcastle hit a two-run homer and Rio Ruiz added a three-run shot and the Baltimore Orioles hit four homers and cruised to an 11-2 victory over the New York Mets

Quality start wasted Friday Porcello didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Phillies, giving up two runs on three hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.
Impact The 32-year-old needed exactly 100 pitches (65 strikes) to deliver his third quality start of the season, but he exited the game with the score tied 2-2 and had to watch as Jared Hughes gave the game away in the seventh and eighth. Porcello has done an excellent job of keeping the ball down and in the park this year -- his 0.46 HR/9 would be a career low -- but a .366 BABIP has saddled him with a 5.54 ERA that's almost double his 2.95 FIP. He'll look for better luck in his next outing Wednesday, at home against the Orioles.

Allows two runs Sunday Porcello allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings in Sunday's Game 1 loss to the Yankees. He didn't factor into the decision.
Impact Although Porcello let up two runs over his five innings, he appeared to be in good shape when he left the game as the Mets held a 4-2 lead. The team scored three more runs in the sixth inning, but the bullpen imploded in the seventh inning, which forced Porcello to settle for a no-decision. The right-hander was coming off three consecutive losses and now carries a 6.00 ERA over 33 innings this season. He'll attempt to return to the win column at home Friday against the Phillies.

Dealt fourth loss Porcello (1-4) took the loss in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Marlins after allowing four runs on five hits over three innings. He had four strikeouts and zero walks...
Impact The 31-year-old's outing was interrupted by a rain delay, but he may not have pitched much longer regardless given how the first three innings transpired. Porcello has a 6.43 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 26:6 K:BB through 28 innings, and he could start Sunday against the Yankees, depending how the Mets organized the rotation coming out of the twin bill.

Gets two step Porcello is starting Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Marlins.
Impact He will be starting with several days of extra rest following the Mets' COVID-19 postponements. Porcello will get two starts this week, also taking the mound Sunday against the Yankees.
AUGUST 25, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Weekend series postponed Porcello won't start this weekend against the Yankees as the series was postponed due to positive COVID-19 test results, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Impact Porcello was set to start Friday before that game was postponed following two positive tests from the Mets, and the league has now pushed back all three games of the series. The Mets next scheduled game is Tuesday against the Marlins, but the team could adjust its starting rotation coming out of an off weekend.

Start vs. Yankees postponed Porcello's scheduled start against the Yankees on Friday was postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Impact A player and a staff member for the Mets reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, prompting MLB to postpone the team's next two games. It remains to be seen whether the Mets will play the Yankees at all this weekend, leaving Porcello's next start in limbo.

Allows 10 hits in loss Porcello (1-3) allowed four runs on 10 hits and no walks while striking out six over six innings as he was charged with the loss Sunday against the Phillies.
Impact Porcello has struggled to keep the basepaths clear to begin the season, and he couldn't keep the Phillies' bats in check as he picked up his second straight loss. The right-hander saw his ERA spike in 2019 during his final season in Boston, and the rate has continued to rise to begin the 2020 season as he carries a 5.76 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 25 innings this year. He'll look to return to the win column at home Friday against the Yankees.

Quality start wasted Tuesday Porcello (1-2) took the loss Tuesday as the Mets fell 2-1 to the Nationals, giving up two runs on eight hits over six innings. He struck out five.
Impact The right-hander came through with his second straight quality start, but Porcello still wound up on the wrong end of the decision as the Mets' bats couldn't break through against Max Scherzer. Despite his recent success, Porcello's 5.68 ERA and 1.63 WHIP are still stained by his ugly initial outings, but he'll look to keep rolling in his next start Sunday in Philadelphia.
