Impressive debut at Triple-A Lowder allowed three runs while striking out seven over six scoreless innings for Triple-A Louisville on Thursday, Jesus Cano of MLB.com reports. Impact Lowder made his debut at the highest level, his third tier in the minors, and made a strong first impression. MLB veteran backstop Tucker Barnhart guided the 2023 first-round draft pick, who noted Triple-A hitters don't chase as much as batters at the lower levels. "He's never caught me, so we laid out my stuff, and he went over the hitters and quickly got on the same page," Lowder said. "It was awesome having him call pitches back there." There's room on the Bats' schedule for the right-hander to make another five starts, if the organization chooses to push him. Lowder already has 108.2 innings under his belt and is approaching the career maximum of 120.1 he threw in 2023 while at Wake Forest. Whatever the Reds decide, Lowder is set up to open 2025 at Louisville with the potential to reach Cincinnati.
