Impact Espinal made the second and third appearances of his big-league career this season, allowing four runs in 4.2 innings of work. Given that he's already 31 years old and has made a minimal impact at the highest level, it's no surprise to see him pass through waivers unclaimed.

Sent down Saturday Espinal was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.

Impact Espinal was called up by the Reds on Thursday but will head back to the minors after he gave up three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out three in 2.1 innings Friday against the Cardinals. Hunter Greene (shoulder) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list to start the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against St. Louis.

Impact After being optioned to Triple-A on Wednesday, Espinal is right back in Cincinnati alongside fellow reliever Dauri Moreta. This move comes in correspondence to Justin Dunn (shoulder) and Luke Farrell being removed from the Reds' active roster Thursday. Espinal made his season debut Tuesday in which he allowed one earned run over 2.1 innngs and struck out two batters.
