Goes on IL with elbow inflammation The Giants placed Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right elbow inflammation, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Impact Rodriguez will be eligible to return before the end of the month, but given the nature of the injury it's difficult to say at this point whether he has a chance to be ready by that date. Spencer Bivens has been recalled in a corresponding move.

Stuck with second loss Rodriguez (3-2) allowed an unearned run on one hit over one inning to take the extra-inning loss Tuesday versus Atlanta. He did not issue a walk or strike out a batter.

Impact Rodriguez gave up an RBI single to Travis d'Arnaud, which plated the initial runner in the 10th inning, and the Giants failed to respond for their second extra-inning loss in a row.
