Dealing with shoulder soreness Priester (wrist) is with the Brewers in St. Louis after being pulled from his rehab assignment due to shoulder soreness, Sophia Minnaert of Brewers.tv reports.
Impact Priester struggled in his last rehab outing with Triple-A Nashville on Friday, when he tossed 62 pitches (37 strikes) and allowed five runs on seven hits (including one homer) and two walks while striking out one batter in just two innings. Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters Monday that Priester's recent setback isn't considered a long-term concern, but the 25-year-old right-hander will be reevaluated by medical staff and work with pitching coaches over the coming days to determine a more clear timeline to return.

Pulled off rehab assignment Priester (wrist) remains on the 15-day injured list after the Brewers pulled him off of his rehab assignment Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact Priester isn't believed to be dealing with any sort of setback, but the Brewers will pause his minor-league assignment after the right-hander struggled mightily during his three starts at Triple-A Nashville. He failed to record more than seven outs in any of those outings, submitting a collective 16.20 ERA, 3.00 WHIP and 5:8 K:BB across five innings. The Brewers haven't indicated that Priester will be shut down from activity, but he'll likely need to show improvement with both his velocity and command during his throwing sessions before Milwaukee restarts his rehab clock. Brandon Sproat and Logan Henderson should have longer leashes in the Milwaukee rotation while both Priester and Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) are on the IL.

Making next rehab start Friday Priester (wrist) is scheduled to throw about four innings and 60 pitches in the next start of his rehab assignment Friday, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Impact The right-hander made the second start of his rehab assignment Sunday with Triple-A Nashville, throwing 45 pitches across 2.1 frames. Priester has struggled with his command in both rehab outings, issuing three walks in each start while hitting the strike zone with just 30 of 74 total pitches. His sinker also topped out at 92 mph Sunday after averaging 93.2 mph during the 2025 regular season. Priester was expected to require at least three starts in the minors before being activated from the 15-day injured list, but the control and velocity concerns will likely result in a longer rehab stint.

Lacks control in second rehab start Priester (wrist) struck out two and allowed zero hits and issued three walks across 2.1 innings in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Nashville.
Impact Though he emerged from his second minor-league outing with a solid box-score line, Priester once again struggled to find the strike zone. After spotting just 12 of 29 pitches for strikes in his first outing with Nashville on Wednesday, Priester was even more inefficient Sunday (18 strikes on 45 pitches). The right-hander's velocity was also down in Sunday's appearance, with his sinker topping out at 92 miles per hour after averaging 93.2 mph with the Brewers in 2025. Though Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy previously said that the 25-year-old would need at least three starts in the minors before coming off the 15-day injured list, Priester's shaky control through his first two rehab outings suggests he'll likely need more time than that to shake off the rust as he works his way back from thoracic outlet syndrome.
APRIL 27 • ROTOWIRE
Struggles in first rehab start Priester (wrist) yielded four runs on three walks while recording just two outs in his first rehab start with Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.
Impact After walking the first hitter of the game, Priester bounced back with consecutive strikeouts. Unfortunately, he then hit the next batter with a pitch before issuing two straight walks, the second of which forced in a run and spelled the end of his night. Three more runs were charged to his line after reliever Peter Strzelecki served up a grand slam. Even more disturbing than Priester's line was his velocity, as he averaged only 91.2 mph with his sinker (down from last year's 93.9 mph) and 88.9 mph with his cutter (down from last year's 92.3 mph). It was Priester's first game action since last October, so it's possible his velocity will rise as he gets ramped up. However, given that he's coming back from thoracic outlet syndrome symptoms, there's a chance the velocity will remain down. Priester will need multiple more rehab starts before the Brewers consider reinserting him into their rotation.

Kicking off rehab assignment Priester (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Priester has been on the shelf all season while recovering from symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome in his right wrist, but he's made enough progress with his throwing program to advance to final stage of the rehab process. The right-hander will likely need to complete multiple starts before returning from the 15-day injured list, potentially in early May. As the Milwaukee rotation currently stands now, Brandon Sproat (6.88 ERA, 1.71 WHIP in 17 innings) would likely be most at risk of losing his spot once Priester is activated.

Closing in on rehab assignment Priester (wrist) is tracking toward beginning a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville next week, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact Priester is slated to throw a two-up live batting practice session at the Brewers' spring training complex Thursday, and if that goes well he will be cleared to pitch in rehab games. Working his way back from symptoms related to thoracic outlet syndrome, Priester missed all of spring training, so he will need a few rehab outings before being considered for the Brewers' rotation.

Murphy: Brewers Receive 'Bad News' With Injury of Another Star Player
Gets green light to face hitters Priester (wrist) will report to the Brewers' spring training complex in Arizona later this week to resume throwing live batting practice, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Priester checked an important box in his recovery process from symptoms related to thoracic outlet syndrome by throwing a 20-pitch bullpen session Tuesday. With the right-hander checking out fine following that workout, he'll face hitters over the next few days before the Brewers map out a schedule for a minor-league rehab assignment. Priester missed all of spring training, so he'll require a prolonged assignment and may not be ready to return from the 15-day injured list until early May.

Impact The right-hander opened the campaign on the injured list due to symptoms related to thoracic outlet syndrome in his wrist, which he initially developed late last season. Assuming he avoids any setbacks, Priester should soon progress to facing live hitters and is on track to begin a rehab assignment in early April. The 25-year-old will then likely require a handful of starts before his making his season debut in the majors after sitting out the entirety of spring training.

No pain during bullpen session Priester (wrist) threw a pain-free bullpen session Saturday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Priester is expected to miss the first month of the season due to symptoms related to thoracic outlet syndrome, but the fact that he's able to throw off a mound without any discomfort is a positive sign. He's scheduled for one more bullpen session within the next few days before reporting to the Brewers' complex in Arizona to begin facing hitters.

Move to IL made official The Brewers placed Priester (wrist) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.
Impact Priester first developed right wrist soreness late last season and was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome after the discomfort cropped up again in Brewers camp. It's viewed as a relatively mild case of TOS and the hope is Priester is ready for his season debut around early May, but it's far from a guarantee he'll be ready by that time.

Targeting early-May return Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that the team hopes Priester (wrist) is ready for his season debut by early May, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Impact Priester is currently with the Brewers in Milwaukee and will throw a couple more bullpen sessions there before heading back to the club's spring training complex in Arizona when the Brewers begin their first road trip. The right-hander is dealing with a nerve issue related to thoracic outlet syndrome that has led to pain in his right wrist. Priester will need to make some rehab starts before rejoining the Brewers' rotation.

Brewers' Quinn Priester expects to miss at least the first month of the season

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Quinn Priester expects to miss at least the first month of the season as he recovers from a nerve issue

Late-April return 'optimistic' Priester (wrist) said Friday that he's hoping to be ready to pitch in games by "late April, May," Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact It appears to be a very rough timetable, with Priester admitting the late April/early May he offered is "on the optimistic side." Priester has been diagnosed with a nerve issue in the thoracic outlet syndrome family that has led to pain in his right wrist. The righty indicated Friday that the vascular specialist in Dallas who diagnosed his injury told him he had the least severe of three different TOS-related issues and there's optimism it can be treated without surgery. Priester is still able to throw on flat ground and has a bullpen session scheduled for March 21.

Impact Priester visited a vascular specialist in Dallas on Wednesday, where he was diagnosed as having the nerve issue in the TOS family. It is believed the pitcher will be able to treat the issue without going through surgery. While dealing with the issue, he pitched lightly Thursday and is scheduled for a bullpen on March 21. While he will miss the beginning of the season, the total amount of time he misses is still to be determined.
MARCH 12 • ROTOWIRE
Visiting doctor for wrist issue Priester is scheduled to meet with a specialist in Dallas on Thursday to receive further consultation on his lingering right wrist injury, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Though Priester hasn't been shut down from throwing during spring training, he's yet to make his Cactus League while he's struggled to get over the hump in his recovery from wrist soreness, an injury that previously hampered him late in the 2025 season. Priester is hopeful that the upcoming meeting with the specialist will provide more insight in how best to treat the injury, but with the start of the regular season just two weeks away, the right-hander seems to be trending toward at least an abbreviated stint on the injured list to begin the campaign.
