Earns win in relief
Gray (5-0) earned the win Friday against the Mariners after pitching a scoreless sixth inning, allowing one hit and striking out two.
Impact
Gray entered the game in the sixth inning, and while he gave up a single to Cole Young, he closed out the inning by striking out Luke Raley and Colt Emerson. Gray needed just 14 pitches (12 strikes) to get the job, and the 31-year-old right-hander has been pitching well of late. He hasn't alowed runs in six of his nine relief appearances this month.

Earns win in relief
Gray (2-0) earned the win in relief Friday against the Guardians, tossing 1.2 perfect innings while striking out two.
Impact
Gray entered the game in the sixth inning and looked dominant, tossing 14 of his 25 pitches for strikes and not allowing a single hitter to reach base. Gray seems to be turning things around of late. He's given up just one earned run over his last four outings while posting a 7:0 K:BB in 4.1 innings in that stretch. That's a huge bounce-back effort after he gave up nine runs (five earned) over a two-game stretch against the Astros and Rockies between May 18 and May 25.

Good to go
Gray (forearm) will play catch Friday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Impact
Gray was removed from Thursday's game versus the Yankees after being struck in the forearm by a comebacker. His exit was deemed precautionary, however, and it's not expected to be an issue moving forward. Gray has yielded just one run but has a 6:6 K:BB over seven frames with Texas.

Exits after being hit by comebacker
Gray was removed from an appearance Thursday versus the Yankees after being struck in the forearm by a comebacker, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact
Gray's exit appeared precautionary, but the Rangers should have more on his status after the game. The reliever was charged with one run on two hits and a walk over one inning of work before departing.

Gets first MLB promotion
The Rangers selected Gray's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.
Impact
It's a great story, as Gray receives his first major-league promotion a few weeks shy of his 31st birthday. The righty reliever earned the call-up by tossing 12.2 scoreless frames with a 15:2 K:BB at Round Rock. Gray figures to be used in low-leverage spots initially, but he could work his way up the pecking order as part of an unsettled Rangers bullpen.
