Gives up game-winning run Sewald (2-2) failed to record an out and was tagged with the loss Saturday against Cleveland after giving up a run and a walk Saturday against Cleveland.
Impact Sewald entered the bottom of the 10th inning with a 4-4 tie and an automatic runner in second base, and his outing didn't boost Seattle's chances of earning the victory -- he allowed a single to Amed Rosario and walked Jose Ramirez to load the bases with no outs. In fact, an error from Sewald himself allowed Harold Ramirez to score on a fielder's choice. As a result of his woeful outing, Sewald ended a streak of four straight scoreless appearances.

Fails to record out Sewald (2-1) lost Tuesday's 12-6 defeat to Oakland, allowing three runs on a hit and two walks without recording an out.
Impact Sewald was one of three Seattle pitchers in the top of the seventh as Oakland scored six times in the inning. He entered with a one-run lead and a runner on third and promptly allowed a single followed by two walks before being removed. Daniel Zamora came in and allowed all three runners to score which resulted in a disaster outing for Sewald, whose ERA quadrupled from 1.00 to 4.00.

Kikuchi, Mariners hand Rangers 12th straight road loss, 4-2

Gets first hold Sewald recorded his first hold in a win over the Rangers on Saturday, firing a perfect eighth inning during which he recorded a strikeout.
Impact Sewald has been effective in a number of roles since having his contract selected May 13, working three multi-inning outings and contributing four scoreless appearances in five trips to the mound overall. The right-hander has pitched to a 1.13 ERA and impressive 13:4 K:BB over his eight innings, while his two victories and Saturday's hold have given him some early, surprising fantasy relevance.

Non-tendered by Mets Sewald was non-tendered by the Mets on Wednesday.
Impact He never logged an ERA lower than 4.55 across four seasons in the Mets' bullpen, so it's not surprising to see him cut loose. Sewald could end up settling for a minor-league deal this offseason.
DECEMBER 3, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Optioned off roster Sewald was optioned to the Mets' alternate training site Tuesday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
Impact Sewald has made five appearances out of the pen for the Mets this season, but things haven't gone at all well for him. He's allowed nine runs on 12 hits in six innings, walking four batters while striking out just two.
AUGUST 11, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Another shaky outing Sewald allowed two hits and a walk in 1.2 scoreless innings during Tuesday's loss to the Nationals.
Impact The right-hander entered the game in the fourth inning after a poor performance from Steven Matz, but Sewald ran into trouble of his own in the fifth, loading the bases with two outs before getting bailed out by Jeurys Familia. Sewald has a 5.06 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 2:2 K:BB through 5.1 innings, and his low-leverage role offers little fantasy appeal.
