Placed on IL due to biceps strain The Nationals placed Ribalta on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right biceps strain, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Impact Ribalta made his last appearance Tuesday against the Dodgers, during which he allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out three in three innings (58 pitches). According to Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com, Ribalta felt tightness in his arm coming out of the appearance and was diagnosed with a bicep strain. Ribalta underwent an MRI earlier Sunday, but the severity of his injury won't be known until the results of his tests are in. With Ribalta sidelined, the Nationals replenished their bullpen by recalling Cole Henry from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

Optioned to Triple-A The Nationals optioned Ribalta to Triple-A Rochester on Sunday.

Impact Four days after being recalled from Triple-A, Ribalta will now head back to the minors after giving up two earned runs on four hits and a walk over one-third of an inning during Sunday's loss to the Cubs. While the 26-year-old has yet to find his footing in the big leagues, he's been effective at Rochester with a 3.64 ERA and 1.27 WHIP across 29.2 frames.

Back with big club The Nationals recalled Ribalta from Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Impact The Nats placed Joan Adon (biceps) on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Ribalta, 26, permitted three runs over two innings in two appearances with the big club earlier this month.

Moved back to Rochester The Nationals optioned Ribalta to Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.

Impact Ribalta appeared in two games and logged a 13.50 ERA across two innings during his first MLB stint. The 26-year-old will yield his spot on the 26-man roster to Robert Garcia, who returns from the bereavement list Tuesday. Ribalta has a 3.62 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 27.1 innings for Triple-A Rochester this season.
