Impact Milwaukee will face a left-handed starting pitcher (Kris Bubic) for the third time in four games, and the left-handed-hitting Dunn has found himself on the bench for each of those contests. Vinny Capra will get another start at third base, but Dunn still looks to be in line for the bulk of the playing time at the position as the strong-side platoon option.

Impact After a standout performance last spring, Dunn secured a spot on the Brewers' Opening Day roster. He slashed .221/.282./316 with one home run and three stolen bases in 104 plate appearances for Milwaukee, but he didn't see any action after mid-June due to a disc issue in his back. The 27-year-old seems to be back to full health again following a lengthy layoff, and he's already off to another hot start this spring, going 4-for-9 with a home run, a walk and two stolen bases through his first three spring games. Dunn is once again competing for a utility infield role with the Brewers, though he could be in the mix for a strong-side platoon role at third base if Milwaukee opts not to carry infield prospect Caleb Durbin on its Opening Day roster.

Moves to 60-day IL The Brewers transferred Dunn (back) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Impact Dunn hasn't played at any level since June 12, with his last appearance coming with the Brewers before he was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on June 19. The Brewers later revoked the transaction June 27, instead placing him on their 10-day injured list with a back strain. Though Brewers manager Pat Murphy said after Dunn's placement on the 10-day IL that the utility infielder would be sidelined for at least one month, the 26-year-old's move to the 60-day IL now indicates that Milwaukee is preparing for him to miss at least two months. In a corresponding move, Brewers selected the contract of outfielder Brewer Hicklen to take Dunn's spot on the 40-man roster.

Impact The 26-year-old was set to receive his first start in a week Sunday, but he'll instead sit as William Contreras and Willy Adames were late additions to the lineup. Lands in Milwaukee The Brewers acquired Dunn from the Phillies in exchange for Hendry Mendez and Robert Moore on Tuesday, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Impact Dunn needs to be added to the 40-man roster in order to be protected from the Rule 5 Draft, a move which will now be the Brewers' responsibility. The 26-year-old is coming off an excellent 2023 campaign at Double-A Reading where he slashed .271/.396/.506 with 21 home runs and 16 stolen bases. He then followed that up with a 1.071 OPS during the Arizona Fall League. Dunn has mostly played second base but also has experience at third base, shortstop and left field.
