Drew Rucinski - Activated for OAK debut Rucinski (hamstring) was activated from the injured list and will make his A's debut Friday versus the Reds.

Impact Rucinski missed the first four weeks of the 2023 regular season after suffering a left hamstring strain toward the end of spring training, but he's ready to rock now following a three-start minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas. The 34-year-old right-hander signed a one-year, $3 million contract with Oakland over the winter coming off a 2.97 ERA and 194:34 K:BB in 193.2 innings (31 starts) last year with the NC Dinos of the Korea Baseball Organization.

Aledmys Díaz - Gets Friday off Diaz is not in the starting lineup for Friday's contest against the Reds.

Impact Diaz went just 1-for-11 in the series against the Angels to drop his average to .143, and he's in danger of losing more playing time to some of the younger options on the Athletics. Jordan Diaz will play second base with Kevin Smith handling shortstop duties for Friday's battle against Cincinnati.

Impact Thaiss will sit against southpaw Wade Miley after starting the last two games for the Angels and going 3-for-7. Chad Wallach will be the starting backstop for Los Angeles and hit eighth.

Ryan Tepera - Starting rehab assignment Tepera (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A Inland Empire on Friday, Steve Wendt of 66ers Radio reports.

Impact Tepera is slated for one inning of work in what will be his first game action since he went down with right shoulder inflammation in mid-April. It's not clear how many additional, if any, rehab appearances he'll need before activation, but he's eligible to return Monday.
