Sits for first time
Arenado is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Mets, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Impact
Arenado sits after starting each of the Cardinals' first 29 games. He's bounced back nicely from a poor 2020 campaign, though leaving Coors Field has taken the expected bite out of his numbers. He's hitting a solid .265/.325/.496 with five homers through his first 29 games in a Cardinals uniform. Matt Carpenter will fill in for him at third base Tuesday.

Blasts fifth homer
Arenado went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in Monday's 6-5 win over the Mets.
Impact
The third baseman took Joey Lucchesi deep in the third inning, snapping his 14-game homerless drought. Arenado has been productive to begin his first season with St. Louis, hitting .265 with five home runs and 21 RBI through 29 games.

On base four times Saturday
Arenado went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a triple, two runs scored and three RBI in Saturday's 12-5 win over the Pirates.
Impact
The 30-year-old hasn't gone yard since April 17, a stretch of 13 games, but Arenado is still providing some thump with six extra-base hits (five doubles and a triple) over his last five contests. On the season, he's slashing a solid .274/.330/.491 with four homers and 18 RBI through 27 games.

Smacks two doubles in win
Arenado went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in Friday's 7-3 win over the Pirates.
Impact
Arenado had gone just 1-for-7 with a pair of strikeouts in the last two games, but he put the Cardinals on the board with RBI doubles in each of his first two at-bats Friday. The 30-year-old is hitting .255 with four home runs, 15 RBI and 10 runs to begin the season.

Collects two doubles in win
Arenado went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Phillies.
Impact
Arenado logged a double in each of his first two at-bats but caught a break in the first inning. Brad Miller misjudged a sliding catch in left field and the ball went off his glove and rolled all the way to the wall, giving him his lone RBI of the evening and tying the game up at 1-1. The two extra-base hits helped him snap a minor 0-for-10 drought and raised his slash line to .256/.309/.456 with four home runs, 13 RBI and 10 runs scored through his first 23 games as a Cardinal.

Extends hitting streak in win
Arenado went 1-for-4 with an RBI single and a run in a win over the Reds on Friday.
Impact
Arenado's timely third-inning hit plated the Cardinals' fourth run of the day and extended the veteran third baseman's hitting streak to four games. The 30-year-old arguably already looks better early in his Cardinals tenure than during an injury-shortened 2020 in Colorado, as he's posted eight extra-base hits (four doubles, four home runs), 11 RBI and an .801 OPS through his first 81 plate appearances.
