Impact Hernandez made a pair of appearance during his brief most recent stint in the big leagues, allowing one run over two innings. The Astros have decided to sub out the right-hander in favor of lefty Bryan King.

Recalled from Triple-A The Astros recalled Hernandez from Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Impact Hernandez has allowed six runs with a 7:1 K:BB over six relief innings during his time with the Astros this season. He'll provide a fresh arm out of the bullpen after starter Spencer Arrighetti failed to get out of the first inning in Wednesday's game.

Back to Triple-A The Astros optioned Hernandez to Triple-A Sugar Land following Friday's game against Baltimore, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Impact Hernandez was recalled by the Astros on June 18 after Justin Verlander (neck) was placed on the injured list. In his one outing during this stint with the big club, Hernandez gave up five runs on five hits -- including three home runs -- and one walk while striking out two over 1.1 innings in Friday's 14-11 win over the Orioles.

Optioned to El Paso The Padres optioned Hernandez to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.

Impact Hernandez allowed four earned runs over three innings of relief during his 11-day stay in the majors. Jose Esapda will fill his spot in the San Diego bullpen ahead of Friday's series opener against the Cardinals.
