Shuttered for season The Mariners transferred Davila (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Impact Davila's initial placement on the shelf was retroactive to Aug. 31, so his move to the 60-day IL will officially bring an end to his season. Before going down with an SC joint sprain in his right shoulder, Davila made 24 appearances out of the Seattle bullpen and submitted a 4.94 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 27.1 innings.

Seattle sent Emerson Hancock (groin) to the 15-day injured list, creating space for Davila on the active roster.

Impact Recalled from Triple-A Tacoma earlier in the day, Davila got the call after Jose Ferrer blew a save chance in the ninth and Randy Arozarena launched a two-run homer in the top of the 10th. Davila nearly blew his save chance too, but he got bailed out after letting the phantom runner come home when Blaze Alexander was thrown out at the plate. The rookie right-hander has yet to give up an earned run for Seattle in eight appearances and 8.1 innings this season, but his 5:6 K:BB highlights how fragile that modest success has been.
