Yacksel Rios - DFA'd by Boston Rios was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Thursday.

Impact Rios spent time on the 7-day minor-league injured list in late August and early September, but he tossed two scoreless innings across two relief appearances after he was activated Sept. 12. However, the righty will now be removed from the 40-man roster to make room for Jarren Duran and Jonathan Arauz, who were reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Thursday.

Geoff Hartlieb - Designated for assignment Hartlieb was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Thursday.

Impact Hartlieb was claimed off waivers by Boston in early September, and he tossed two scoreless innings across two relief appearances at Triple-A Worcester. However, he'll now be cast off the 40-man roster as part of a move after Jarren Duran and Jonathan Arauz were reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Thursday.

Jonathan Araúz - Activated, optioned Arauz (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list and optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Thursday.

Impact Arauz landed on the COVID-19 IL nearly two weeks ago, but he's now back to full health. The 23-year-old was initially sent down before his placement on the IL, so it's not surprising to see him head to Worcester. The infielder has slashed .234/.318/.356 with six home runs, 28 RBI, 27 runs and two stolen bases across 61 minor-league appearances this season.

Jarren Duran - Reinstated, sent down Duran (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list and optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Thursday.

Impact Duran tested positive for COVID-19 in early September but spent the last week in Worcester on a rehab assignment. He went 3-for-13 with a double, a run and an RBI across four rehab appearances, and he'll remain with the minor-league club now that he's back to full health.
