Rips two triples in win Nunez went 2-for-2 with two walks, two triples, three runs scored, and RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Royals.
Impact The speedy infielder is up to 26 steals on the year and remains one behind Tuesday's opponent, Bobby Witt, for the major-league lead. Nunez's two triples in the same game also tied a franchise record, with Daylen Lile having most recently tied the mark in September of last season. Nunez has stepped up his production at the plate in June, slashing .353/.421/.500 over 39 plate appearances with four steals, seven RBI and eight runs in 12 contests.

Mead's 3-run HR, Nuñez's big night lift the Nationals to a 6-4 victory over the Royals

Curtis Mead hit a tiebreaking three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Washington Nationals to a 6-4 win over the Kansas City Royals

On base three times in win Nunez went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored in Monday's win over the Royals.
Impact The 25-year-old infielder's glove work and speed have kept him in the lineup at second base this season, but Nunez's bat is beginning to show signs of life in June as well. He's hit safely in seven of his last eight games, batting .321 (9-for-28) during that stretch with a double, three steals, five runs and six RBI.

Miles Mikolas' 7 shutout innings lift Nationals to 10-1 rout of Mariners

Miles Mikolas pitched seven shutout innings in relief of an opener, and the Washington Nationals scored five runs in the fourth inning to pull away from the Seattle Mariners 10-1

Grabbing seat Friday Nunez is absent from the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Mariners.
Impact Nunez will take a seat in the series opener after starting the last three games and six of the last seven tilts. Jorbit Vivas will hold down second base for the Nationals.
JUNE 12 • ROTOWIRE
Records 24th steal Nunez went 1-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Giants.
Impact With the steal, Nunez is up to 24 thefts on the season. That's good for the National League lead and is tied with Jose Ramirez for first in the majors. Nunez has made the most of his chances on the basepaths considering he's hitting just .202 with a .517 OPS this season. He has yet to hit a home run while adding 18 RBI, 23 runs scored, three doubles and a triple through 63 games, so he'll remain a speed specialist until he can display more pop.
JUNE 10 • ROTOWIRE
Sitting Sunday Nunez is not in the Nationals' starting lineup against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Impact Nunez will get a breather after going 3-for-8 with two RBI and one steal over the first two games of the series. Jose Tena will start at second base Sunday and bat eighth.

Exiting lineup Sunday Nunez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Impact The Nationals will go with Jorbit Vivas at second base while Nunez heads to the bench for the series finale. After going 1-for-5 at the plate in the first two games of the series, Nunez actually raised his season average to .189, which places him 155th of the majors' 162 qualified hitters. The 25-year-old has kept his fantasy value afloat almost solely on the back of his MLB-leading 22 stolen bases.
MAY 31 • ROTOWIRE
Hitting bench Wednesday Nunez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.
Impact Jorbit Vivas will fill in at second base for Nunez, who went 6-for-30 with a pair of steals, two RBI and three runs while starting in each of the last eight games. Nunez continues to be a drain in batting average (.189 over 164 at-bats) and hasn't hit a home run this season, but his MLB-leading 22 stolen bases have enabled him to maintain fantasy relevance.

First in NL to 20 steals Nunez went 0-for-3 with a stolen base in Monday's extra-innings loss to the Mets.
Impact The speedy infielder began the night on the bench but still wound up seeing a nearly full allotment of plate appearances after pinch-running for Brady House in the seventh inning of a game that wound up going 12 frames. Nunez's steal was his 20th of the season, tying him with Jose Ramirez for the major-league lead, but he's been a fairly one-dimensional fantasy asset in 2026, slashing .187/.299/.209 in 45 games with zero homers, 14 RBI and 18 runs.
MAY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Moving to bench Monday Nunez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.
Impact Nunez has remained a fantasy asset with a National League-best 19 steals in 21 attempts on the season, but his lack of production at the plate may be starting to cost him some playing time. He'll head to the bench for the second time in four games while he's mustered a lowly .162/.289/.216 slash line since the beginning of May.
MAY 18 • ROTOWIRE
Sitting out Friday Nunez is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Orioles.
Impact It looks to be a routine day off for Nunez, who had started each of the previous 11 tilts. The Nationals will roll out Jorbit Vivas at second base in Friday's series opener.

Swipes two bags in win Nunez went 1-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in Friday's 3-2 win over the Marlins.
Impact Nunez singled on a bunt in the second inning before swiping second and third base following a walk in the seventh. After a miserable April, the 25-year-old has gone a modest 5-for-16 with four RBI across seven May contests. He's slashing .218/.320/.245 with just two extra-base hits, 14 RBI and 16 runs scored across 131 plate appearances this season and now leads the majors with 16 steals.
