Claimed by Atlanta Atlanta claimed Parker (elbow) off waivers from the Nationals on Monday.

Impact Parker might not be ready to pitch again until 2028 after having elbow ligament repair surgery with an internal brace in late July. However, Atlanta felt the left-hander was worth a waiver claim as it looks to supplement its rotation depth. Parker will be eligible for arbitration for the first time this offseason.

Undergoes surgery Parker underwent elbow ligament repair with an internal brace Wednesday, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

Impact Parker moved to the 60-day IL at the start of the month after being diagnosed with a Grade 3 UCL sprain, and his procedure will officially keep him out for the remainder of 2026 and most, if not all, of the 2027 campaign as well.

Moves to 60-day IL The Nationals transferred Parker (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Impact Parker is likely to undergo Tommy John surgery after being diagnosed with a Grade 3 UCL sprain in his left elbow, so the Nationals will stash him away on the 60-day IL for the rest of the season. The move creates space on the 40-man roster for Kyle Nicolas, who was acquired from Baltimore on Wednesday.

Likely to have Tommy John surgery Parker has been diagnosed with a Grade 3 UCL sprain in his left elbow and is likely to undergo Tommy John surgery, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

Impact A full Tommy John repair could sideline Parker until 2028, though he would have a chance to make it back late in the 2027 season if all goes well. The left-hander has collected a 6.58 ERA and 34:13 K:BB over 39.2 innings out of the Washington bullpen this season. Parker is slated for arbitration eligibility for the first time this coming offseason, though he could be a non-tender candidate.

Shelved by elbow inflammation The Nationals placed Parker on the 15-day injured list Monday with left elbow inflammation.

Impact Parker was forced from an appearance Sunday versus the Orioles due to the injury. While the injury designation is listed as inflammation, it's not clear whether Parker might still need to undergo testing to rule out a more serious injury. The southpaw has collected a 6.58 ERA and 34:13 K:BB over 39.2 innings out of the Washington bullpen this season.

Nabs hold in third straight outing Parker recorded his seventh hold of the season in Sunday's win over the Orioles, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk over 1.2 innings. He struck out two.

Impact The southpaw isn't working in particularly high-leverage situations -- he entered Sunday's game in the bottom of the sixth inning with the Nationals ahead 5-2 -- but Parker has collected holds in three straight appearances even though he's been tagged for runs in each game. Through nine appearances and 10.2 innings in June, he has a win and four holds despite a brutal 10.13 WHIP, 2.34 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB.

Collects multi-inning save Parker gave up two runs on three hits and a walk over three relief innings Tuesday to record his first save of the season in a win over the Guardians. He struck out five.

Impact The 26-year-old southpaw actually fulfilled two separate requirements for a save, as he entered the game with the Nationals ahead 4-1 and stayed in the game the rest of the way after they tacked on a couple insurance runs in the top of the ninth. Parker has worked more than one inning in five of seven May appearances, posting a 5.74 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 15:4 K:BB through 15.2 innings with two holds in addition to Tuesday's save, but a lack of reliable bullpen options for Washington could keep him in the high-leverage mix.

Picks up win in 2026 debut Parker (1-0) picked up the win Tuesday against the Pirates, allowing two hits with no walks and five strikeouts across two scoreless innings.

Impact After PJ Poulin and Miles Mikolas combined to surrender four runs on five hits and two walks with two home runs allowed across 4.1 innings, Parker was called on in relief after he was recalled from Triple-A earlier in the day Tuesday. It was a flawless season debut for the left-hander after he failed to make the big-league club out of spring training. With Mikolas continuing to get pummeled to the tune of an 11.49 ERA and six home runs allowed, Parker could be a candidate to replace the veteran in the Nationals' rotation moving forward.

Recalled from Triple-A The Nationals recalled Parker from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.

Impact He's absorbing the roster and bullpen spot vacated by Jackson Rutledge. Parker boasts a 16:3 K:BB over 13.1 innings in his first three starts with Rochester this season, though that's come with a 6.08 ERA. The lefty will give the bullpen some length behind Tuesday's scheduled starter, Miles Mikolas, who's lasted a total of just 7.1 frames over his last two starts.

Sent packing to Triple-A The Nationals optioned Parker to Triple-A Rochester on Friday.

Impact Parker lost his spot in the Nationals' rotation last season and didn't do enough this spring to get it back, collecting an uninspiring 3:5 K:BB over 3.2 innings during Grapefruit League action. The left-hander should open the season in the rotation at Rochester as he awaits another opportunity with the big club.
