Josh Fleming - Gives up five earned in loss Fleming (2-3) was charged with the loss Sunday against Minnesota after surrendering six runs (five earned) on five hits across 3.2 innings. He had one strikeout and three walks.
Impact The left-hander threw 53 of his 77 pitches for strikes and delivered first-pitch strikes to 16 of the 19 hitters he faced, but he was unable to take advantage of that success early in the count. Fleming issued only three walks over his first four outings of the season, but he doubled that total Sunday. It's been tough going early in the campaign with a 6.32 ERA and 1.85 WHIP across 15.2 innings. The 25-year-old lines up to pitch next weekend in Seattle, though it's unclear if Tampa Bay will utilize him as a traditional starter or have him follow an opener.

Josh Winder - Delivers six shutout frames Winder (1-0) earned the win Sunday at Tampa Bay after striking out seven over six scoreless innings. He allowed only two hits and one walk.
Impact The 25-year-old pitched in long relief his first three appearances of the year, but he made his first big-league start Sunday and shut down the Rays. Winder threw 54 of his 83 pitches for strikes and allowed only one baserunner to reach second base. Despite the impressive performance, the young right-hander may be headed back to the bullpen since Sonny Gray (hamstring) made a rehab start Sunday and could return from the injured list this week.

Kyle Garlick - Injury somewhat concerning Manager Rocco Baldelli said after Sunday's win over the Rays that Garlick's (calf) injury isn't "the most minor of occurrences," Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Impact Garlick exited Sunday's matchup in the third inning due to right calf tightness, and Baldelli's assessment seems to indicate that there's a possibility the outfielder will require an IL stint. If the 30-year-old is forced to miss additional time, Gilberto Celestino and Nick Gordon would presumably serve as the top depth options in Minnesota's outfield.

Byron Buxton - Launches homer No. 7 Buxton went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 9-3 win at Tampa Bay.
Impact The 28-year-old was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to a right hand contusion but returned to the starting nine Sunday and busted out of an 0-for-11 slump. Buxton had a .283/.345/.755 slash line with seven home runs, four doubles, 12 RBI and 13 runs in 58 plate appearances in 2022.

Jorge Polanco - Drives in four runs Polanco went 4-for-5 with two doubles, four RBI and a run scored during Sunday's 9-3 win over the Rays.
Impact Polanco entered the contest with only two hits over his previous five games, but he erupted for four hits to power Minnesota's offense during the series finale in Tampa Bay. It's been a slow start to 2022 for the 28-year-old, and he now has a .195/.303/.338 slash line with two home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs through 21 games.
