Placed on concussion injured list
The Royals placed Wacha on the 7-day concussion injured list Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Wacha was involved in a minor off-the-field incident and is headed back to Kansas City to be evaluated further. He had been scheduled to start Wednesday, but that will no longer happen. Wacha will be eligible to return as soon as Sept. 16 versus the Mariners, but it's unclear at this point whether he will be ready by that date. The Royals have not announced a replacement for Wacha on Wednesday.

Unravels in loss
Wacha (8-11) took the loss Sunday against the Tigers, conceding four runs on five hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
Impact
The veteran righty returned from the paternity list and did not look sharp in this 71-pitch appearance, inducing only five whiffs. Wacha fired four scoreless frames before falling apart in the fifth, coughing up four runs on four hits, including two extra-base knocks. Through 153.1 innings, the 34-year-old now sports a 3.52 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 112:39 K:BB. Wacha will look to bounce back in his next outing, currently scheduled to come at home against the Twins next weekend.

Activated for Sunday's start
The Royals reinstated Wacha (personal) from the paternity list to start Sunday's game against the Tigers.
Impact
The right-hander has been away from the team for the past couple days to be with his growing family, but he's back with the Royals for his usual turn through the rotation Sunday versus Detroit. Wacha will look to maintain his strong form through five August starts, as he has a 2.87 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 18:3 K:BB over 31.1 innings this month.

Still making Sunday start
Wacha (paternity) is still scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Tigers, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports.
Impact
Despite being placed on the paternity list Friday, Wacha will make his regularly scheduled start Sunday. The 34-year-old has been excellent lately, logging a 4-1 record and a 2.45 ERA across his last eight starts, spanning 47.2 innings. He's struck out just 29 batters during that stretch, though.

On paternity list
The Royals placed Wacha on the paternity list Friday.
Impact
Wacha can miss a maximum of three days, according to MLB rules, which could put his scheduled Sunday start in jeopardy. The Royals recalled Stephen Kolek, who's served exclusively as a starter since being acquired by the Royals near the trade deadline, from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move. Kansas City hasn't named a starter for Saturday's contest, which is Noah Cameron's normally scheduled turn through the rotation.
