Swipes two bags in loss
Taylor entered Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Rays as a pinch runner in the ninth inning, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Impact
The veteran outfielder couldn't have contributed much more without an official plate appearance, but his efforts on the basepaths went for naught. Taylor's glove has kept him in center field most of the season, and while his seven homers and 10 steals through 56 games does give him some deep-league fantasy value, his .226/.277/.406 slash line is unappealing in most formats.

Heads to bench Wednesday
Taylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.
Impact
Willi Castro will pick up a start in center field in place of Taylor, who appears to be getting a breather after he had started in each of the Twins' last eight games. Taylor has largely struggled at the dish in his first season in Minnesota, but he's getting on base at a .333 clip through his first five games of June and has contributed a solo home run and a pair of stolen bases.

Three hits Sunday
Taylor went 3-for-3 with a double and two steals during Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Guardians.
Impact
The Twins mustered up just five hits on the afternoon with Taylor responsible for three of them. He was also active on the basepaths, registering his first steals since May 9, but was left stranded each time with the rest of the team going 2-for-29. The 32-year-old notched his first multi-hit game since April 24 and his first three-hit game of the year, raising his slash line to .224/.246/.401 with seven homers, 18 RBI, 19 runs scored and a 9:57 BB:K over 164 plate appearances.

Takes back regular role in center
Taylor will start in center field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Giants.
Impact
Even after slugging a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-3 loss, Taylor is still sporting an underwhelming .666 OPS on the season, but he looks like he'll be locked into a near-everyday role in center field nonetheless while all of Nick Gordon (tibia), Max Kepler (hamstring), Gilberto Celestino (thumb) and Trevor Larnach (illness) are on the injured list. Taylor will pick up his fifth start in six games Wednesday.

Leaves the yard Tuesday
Taylor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Giants.
Impact
Taylor took Alex Cobb deep in the fifth to extend the Twins' lead to 3-0. It was his sixth homer of the year and just his second since April 23. Taylor's defense has managed to keep him in lineups over the last few years, but he's slashing just .217/.266/.400 with 15 RBI, 16 runs and a 6:44 BB:K over 129 plate appearances. The 32-year-old struck out at a 23.9 percent clip while walking 7.8 percent of the time in 2022 but is currently sitting at a 34.1 percent strikeout rate and just a 4.8 percent walk rate so far this year.

Losing work to Nick Gordon
Taylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
Impact
Though he started in Tuesday's 5-1 win and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, Taylor will be back on the bench for the series finale. He's now sat out five times in seven games and appears to have ceding the primary center field role to Nick Gordon.

Taylor is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.
Impact
Taylor did homer off the bench in Sunday's rout of the Cubs, but the outfielder will not start for the fourth time in five games. Nick Gordon will patrol center field and hit eighth against the Dodgers on Monday.

Homers off bench Sunday
Taylor hit a two-run home run in his only at-bat in Sunday's 16-3 win over the Cubs.
Impact
Joey Gallo suffered an apparent leg injury in the seventh inning, forcing Taylor to enter the game as a defensive replacement. The Twins then rallied for seven runs in the eighth inning, with Taylor providing the last scoring play with his homer. The veteran outfielder hasn't found much consistent playing time in May, but with Gallo leaving early and Max Kepler (hamstring) on the injured list, the Twins may have to utilize Taylor more often. He's now slashing .242/.292/.424 with five homers, 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and six stolen bases through 107 plate appearances.

Back on bench
Taylor will sit Saturday against the Cubs.
Impact
Taylor started the first 18 games of the year in center field and 26 of the first 28, but his playing time has slipped considerably since then. In the last 12 games, he's started just six times, with Nick Gordon getting the rest of the starts in center.

Goes deep in win Sunday
Taylor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Nationals.
Impact
Taylor took Patrick Corbin long in the fourth to put the Twins ahead 2-1. The 32-year-old has been a consistent lineup fixture, but more so for his defensive talent rather than his skill at the plate. Taylor is now slashing .323/.274/.435 with four home runs, eight RBI, seven runs and a 2:27 BB:K over 74 plate appearances.

ROTOWIRE
Plays key role in blowout victory
Taylor went 2-for-4 with two homers, four RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Yankees.
Impact
Taylor was responsible for more than a third of Minnesota's runs in this offensive outburst. While power hitting has never been a consistent part of the veteran's game, his three homers through the first 13 games currently puts him on pace to surpass his career-high of 19 long balls in a season.

ROTOWIRE
Starting Monday after all
Taylor will start in center field and bat ninth in Monday's game against the White Sox.
Impact
Taylor had been scheduled to receive his first day off of the season, but he'll end up making his 10th consecutive start to begin the campaign after Carlos Correa (back) was a late scratch from the lineup. With Nick Gordon moving to second base to cover Correa's spot in the middle infield, Taylor will patrol center field like he usually does.
