INJURIES

Hitting streak at seven games Taylor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Sunday's 10-7 loss to the Orioles.
Impact Taylor's hitting streak is up to seven games, a span in which he's gone 11-for-21 (.524) with a pair of homers, five RBI and five runs scored. He was batting just .229 on June 4, but the week-long surge has lifted him up to a .278/.372/.413 slash line with four homers, 17 RBI, 19 runs and no steals in 41 contests this year. The 31-year-old is playing above his established level currently, and there's little in his past as a player to suggest he'll keep this up for an extended length of time.

Knocks homer in win Taylor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-1 win over the Orioles.
Impact Taylor provided the Royals' last run Friday with a sixth-inning blast. The outfielder is 8-for-14 with four walks, two RBI and three runs scored in his last five games. That surge of offense has boosted his slash line to .269/.371/.387 with three homers, 14 RBI, 17 runs scored and no stolen bases through 39 contests this season. He should continue to see a near-everyday role in center field.

On base three times Taylor went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Astros.
Impact Taylor missed about two weeks on the COVID-19 injured list, and he went 0-for-4 in his return to the Royals' lineup Saturday. He was able to produce a bit more Sunday in his second straight start. The light-hitting outfielder has a .241/.336/.333 slash line, two home runs, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored and no stolen bases through 125 plate appearances this year. With Taylor healthy and patrolling center field again, Kyle Isbel is likely to see reduced playing time, especially since Whit Merrifield and Hunter Dozier have drawn more starts lately in right field.

MAY 19, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
In COVID protocols Taylor (undisclosed) was scratched from Wednesday's game against the White Sox because he entered MLB's COVID-19 protocols, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Impact It's unclear whether or not Taylor tested positive for the virus, but he'll be unavailable until he clears the testing protocols regardless. The 31-year-old is likely to land on the injured list ahead of Thursday's series finale versus Chicago. Kyle Isbel figures to see more run in the outfield during his absence.

Impact Taylor drilled a solo shot off of Luis Severino in the third inning. Since hitting his last home run on April 12, he'd been stuck in a 5-for-35 (.143) skid over his last 12 games. The 31-year-old is hitting .208 with two extra-base hits and no stolen base attempts through 18 games.
MAY 2, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Day off Saturday Taylor isn't starting Saturday against the Yankees.
Impact Taylor started in the last five games and went just 1-for-15 with two runs, two RBI, six walks and five strikeouts. Kyle Isbel will shift to center field while Edward Olivares takes over in right.
APRIL 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Heads to bench Taylor is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Impact Taylor sits for the first time this season. He hasn't done much at the plate through 12 games, hitting .235/.316/.324. Whit Merrifield moves to center field in Taylor's absence, with Hunter Dozier starting in right and Ryan O'Hearn entering the lineup as the designated hitter.
APRIL 23, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Homers in loss Taylor went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Cardinals.
Impact This was Taylor's second multi-hit game of the season, and it included his first extra-base hit of the year. The veteran outfielder is batting a solid .286 (4-for-14) with four runs scored through five games. While he's maintained an everyday role so far, he regularly hits seventh in the order.
APRIL 13, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Two hits in Sunday's loss Taylor went 2-for-2 with a run scored in Sunday's 17-3 loss to the Guardians.
Impact Taylor was one of two Royals to muster multi-hit performances in the blowout loss. His pair of singles were his first two hits of the season, and he's added a walk and two runs scored. The center fielder should maintain a near-everyday role this season as a strong defensive player, but Kyle Isbel or Edward Olivares could draw the occasional start if they hit well. Taylor slashed .244/.297/.356 with 12 home runs, 54 RBI, 58 runs scored and 14 stolen bases in 142 games last season.
APRIL 11, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Starting Wednesday Taylor (hip) is starting Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Giants.
Impact Taylor left Monday's game due to left hip tightness and was held out for Tuesday's matchup against Seattle. However, he'll start in center field and bat eighth Wednesday.
MARCH 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Won't play Tuesday after all Taylor (hip) was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's Cactus League game against the Mariners, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.
Impact The Royals didn't announce the late change to the lineup, but Taylor's absence became apparent when Kyle Isbel was spotted in center field during the Mariners' first turn at the plate in the bottom of the first inning. It's unclear if Taylor suffered a setback with his left hip while warming up, or if the Royals simply decided to give him another day off as a matter of precaution.
MARCH 29, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Cleared to start Tuesday Taylor (hip) will start in center field and bat seventh in Tuesday's Cactus League game against the Mariners.
Impact Taylor exited early in Monday's game against the Guardians due to left hip tightness, but his inclusion in the lineup a day later seemingly implies that his removal was precautionary. After inking a two-year, $9 million contract extension in September, Taylor is projected to head into Opening Day as the Royals' primary center fielder.
